Reddit shared the pastebin story leak (which and redditors like "Barrygibbfan" leaked plot details before the film was released to the public. The pastebin leak even came days before the world premiere.
Plenty of people here didn't want to believe it, even people like @Pomojema

There's plenty of legitimate leaks that surface on Reddit.
You just have to sift through a lot more nonsense.

 

I was hoping this was an actual shooting script, with deleted scenes and stuff.

 

Im friends with a guy who works in the film industry and he thinks it's fake because it doesn't have a WGA number on it.

 

Yeah, certainly written by someone who watched and understood what they were watching.
But it contains no scenes which hit the cutting room floor.
Which it would if it were real.

And another dead giveaway for me though, is the line where Rey sees "Luke's original lightsaber".
Something about that line. It would not be how they describe it in the script, i don't think.

Really well written stuff.
It seems to recall the action on screen. Almost too well, i guess...

 

Anybody could have written that with a bootleg copy.

Hell, I even read an entire fake script for The Dark Knight Rises before it started production. It even had many of the same concepts that later turned up in the final movie.

Just cautioning.

EDIT: Some guy on reddit saying it's real, their user account is only 2 days old.

EDIT 2: The meta data in the file claims it's by Morgan Dameron (Abram's Assistant), created on December 30, 2015, using Screenwriter for Macintosh.

This is interesting. The guy says he's a set designer for Episode 8 at Pinewood. Probably the usual Reddit twaddle, but as usual make up your own mind....

Hmmm, X-Wings, Star Destroyers, Cloud City, a return to the Jakku market place with Simon Pegg. These all sound like safe guesses to me. Only the Moraband Sith Temple is something new. It'll be interesting over the next few weeks to see if this location gets repeated by other leakers.

 

A want to discuss "A Mother's Embrace" Very telling, why not an "Aunt's Embrace" a "family member embrace?" I'd like some thoughts on this.

 

Yes, that is really interesting. I think Leia could still be her aunt but with this and the line in the novel where she plays with Rey's vest I think the chances of Rey being not related are almost zero at this point.
