    The Vong...ugh.

I carry real issues with them, because their entire concept (to me) seemed out of place in the GFFA...too "Sci-Fi". I had a really hard time reading about them, and in fact just had to close the book because they seemed like a badly conceived race right out of Star Trek that dropped into the GFFA from an alternate universe, and really had no business in Star Wars.

    That's just me, mind you...

Here’s my view on the matter:

If Disney/Lucasfilm is taking the time to rewrite canon after eradicating the Expanded Universe, the Vong should have no place. This is their opportunity to create villains much more original and worthwhile....
...with that said, the villian-side of the High Republic is the weakest part of this era. The Nyles do not cut it for me and on the surface seem even WEAKER constructs than the Vong. I have a feeling the Nhyles are not the main villians, are are simply teasing something far worse (Sith? Night sisters? Something original?) The reason I sense this is becasue of the show “Acolytes,” which will be ‘dark-side’ based. The Nyles do not use the force, last I heard.

Bit of an odd connection to make, considering there's 150 years between the two projects, and they focus on entirely different things.
