This piece of merchandise confirms that the forest we see in the trailer is the same planet where the Starkiller Base is placed.

Maybe it seemed kinda obvious as both places has snow, but I'm surprised on how different look the place where all the army shows up and this forest.

Is there maybe the kind of mission we see in Return of the Jedi, with all fire going to the base and a little grup of people trying to turn off the station in a forest?

Is that forest the same one where rey gathers with BB8 in the mini-teaser? This concept art could be explaining a lot, not only of her presence, but also the fact (if the screenplay didn't change that much) that rey will hold the saber too...

Is really the lake with the x-wings Yavin IV or is it Starkiller Base planet?

The lakes seems to be the "watery planet" that Maz Kanata's castle is on... Poe shows up with Blue Squadron to save the day, not Black Squadron which fights in the snow above Starkiller base (See Black X-Wing toy boxes)

There were some concepts of the "watery planet" that showed waterfalls and big waterways as the Falcon flew in for a landing.

Some think this is the moon of Yavin IV, but we don't have a solid confirmation of this.... (Edit: It now appears to be Takodana) my personal opinion is that it is not and that after this, Poe escorts the Falcon away from the First Order and to the resistance base (which may actually be on the moon of Yavin IV).

My reasoning is -if the First Order just showed up, devastated the place and has their big Finalizer in orbit - how can the crew escape to the other side of the planet and feel safe enough to walk around and formulate a plan? Doesn't make sense - they have to get away to some other place it would seem...

If you really want to be spoiled and see where the shots appear to take place.. you could always go read the Spoilerboard PDF (that's what its there for!)

No. That place is green, with no snow... it's most likely from the Puzzlewood location shoot.

I don't know if I like, or find weird, the fact that JJ set the film on planets that look like Tatooine, Naboo, and Hoth... but aren't called Tatooine, Naboo, and Hoth.

It's the Starkiller base for sure, I don't recall Yavin IV having a snowy climate.

Hello all....Long time first time. ;-)
I find it interesting that it always has to be a snow planet, desert planet, jungle planet, water planet.....is it possible some of these scenes could be on the same world?

I'm almost sure they are different planets (maybe we will see Yavin IV). But officially just one name was revealed: Jakku, and its not Tatooine.

    Jakku- Desert Planet
    Takodana- Jungle Planet
    Starkiller Base - Snow Planet

It seems as though "Starkiller Base" is actually the name of the entire planet itself.

The Star Wars website just updated it's "databanks" a few days ago to include characters and places from TFA. They confirm that Takodana is a location, but they don't tell us which planet it is, although it's easy to infer if you read the article.

The starwars.com databank entry for ME-8DP reads:
So if Takodana is a planet of "unallied scoundrels" (pirates) it isn't necessarily the planet where the Resistance is based, so don't rule out Yavin just yet (although the Resistance base could be on another planet entirely, of course)....

EDIT: @It's a Trap beat me to it, d'oh!....
