WAITING TO EXHALE!! I was FORCED TO SEE THAT FILM!!!! And when the GIRLFRIEND of the person who FORCED ME TO SEE IT asked what I thought of it, I could only think of what I had been told as a child: 'When you can't say something nice...don't say anything at all.":) The BEST thing about Waiting to Exhale was the INDEPENDENCE DAY trailer they played before the film started!!!!:D

Fifty Shades was one of the those movies I saw with a group of friends. This was basically my look throughout that garbage. [IMG]

Kind of hard to say, there's the stuff that's so terrible it's hard to believe it exists, the stuff Mystery Science Theater would get hold of like Manos, Hobgoblins, Zombie Nightmare, etc. Then there's stuff that actually had a budget and studio behind it, they should have known better, but still cranked out a piece of crap like Superman IV, Battlefield Earth, etc. I'll focus on the latter because there are so many levels of bad in the first category, and some are so bad they're great. Two of the worst actual movies I've seen are the only two movies I've ever walked out on in the theater, Van Helsing and Die Another Day. The second one is especially important because I'm a huge Bond fan and can usually enjoy something about them. Not that one. And Van Helsing was so dumb that I thought I had gone insane. I remember looking around the theater thinking that there couldn't really be a movie with this dumb of a plot playing in a theater this packed full of people. It wasn't just me though, word made way though our group and it was unanimous that we should leave.

I like to think I have a pretty good radar for "bad" movies. I stay away from them if I think they look stupid or have a less than stellar premise. I haven't let myself down very much so far. That said, I unfortunately put myself through Stardust, Cutthroat Island, Batman and Robin and The Last Airbender. I get shudders thinking about it.

You wanna know something funny about this? Ever since I was a little kid watching Adam West and Burt Ward's Batman and Robin, I always hated Mr Freeze as I found him so lame.

I would turn off the TV any time there would be an episode that featured him and I never cared for that character. It wasn't until I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr Freeze that I started liking the character.

I like bad movies. Mystery Science Theatre 3000 is awesome, of course they make fun of it. So it's hard to say....Garbage Pail Kids was delightfully horrible.
Although I dont like bad modern movies. The movie that turned me off from going to the theater was Stealth, that was bad. Very bad, in a bad way.

I am pretty easy and can find enjoyment in most anything that I sit down to watch. However, to the best of my memory, Suicide Squad is the absolute worst thing that I have put time into.

Agreed. I love bad movies (I went to a screening of The Room last month and got to meet Tommy Wiseau in person!) and Birdemic takes the cake.

Earnest attempt at making a good movie (unlike the Sharknado intentional bad movie schtick)? Check!
    Terrible acting? Check!
    Terrible effects and editing? Check!
    Bat**** insane plot? Check!
Preachy message that ends up being incoherent amidst the film's flaws? Check!

Birdemic tries so hard to be a good movie with an environmental message, but at times the film is almost unwatchable, it's so poorly cobbled together. And you haven't lived until you've seen the bird gifs they pasted on their screen in an attempt at special effects. This movie is just so unspeakably bad that it's great.

    Solaris.

I thrive on any and all forms of sci fi.. but that film was the most pointless boring thing I've ever sat through.

66% on rotten tomatoes.. not getting that lol

Which version did you see? Tarkovsky's or Sodebergh's (I assume the latter?)

If you saw the one with George Clooney, then I won't say anything, because I haven't seen it. However, the one by Andrei Tarkovsky (the other older Russian one) is a decent adaptation of the ideas from the novel (which, of course, you should read, if you haven't done so yet.)

    Yup it was Mr Clooney

I will give it a look - thanks!

I'm not sure 'decent' can stop the screams I hear at night from seeing that awful film lol, but it's worth a try! :)
