The WORST thing that could happen in TLJ

God, this thread is the wrong place for me to be in. I'm quite a picky guy and there are a lot of things that could happen in TLJ that would disappoint me and there are already a few things revealed that have so I'll limit my list to things that might happen:

1. Reylo
2. The end of the Jedi (I'm counting on that line being at the start the film when Luke is all depressed)
3. Luke dying.
4. New Republic gone (Although I'm pretty sure that's confirmed)
5. KoR not appearing or being killed off.
6. BDT being an underworld/crime lord figure.
7. Rey being a "chosen one" or some such.
8. Too much time wasted on Phasma.

 

Luke dying is one of the things that I would like to see in TLJ. A very strong and well made scene like Han's death. Also I am wainting to see Luke as a force ghost in the next chapter.

 

I think the worst thing that could happen is this film creating another divide among us fans like the prequels did.

 

Annoying fans nitpicking the sh*t out of everything.

I don't want the movie to be a rehash of ESB and I don't want the movie to "forget" about the prequels. I want the Chosen One prophecy to be brought up and the Force Ghosts to show up. I also don't want Luke, Chewie, Finn, Poe, or any of the main characters to die. Basically, I want a movie that everybody can enjoy, one that caters to every fan and is still a great film.

 

Seeing Snoke in the flesh and he looks just as fake and CGI has he does in TFA.

A rehash of ESB is a bit worry but only in respect that so many people will moan and go on and on and on and on about it regardless of whether it is a good film or not.

 

That's a given. Pseudo-"fan"/pro whiners have a knick to b*tch about everything Star Wars.

 

Well people will say that it is a rehash of ESB. The reason is simple, the heroes journey is always the same, yes, but these people forget what it is about and what continually changes: the emotional themes. And really, The Force Awakens is definitely not a rehash or reboot of A New Hope: it is a completely different movie which sometimes dialogues with the introduction of Luke in ANH and Anakin in TPM. At some points TLJ will definitely dialogue with ESB, I even want and expect that.

The funny thing is that they already made up their mind about the movie anyway. They just seek confirmation. They force a square peg through a round hole and say: "see, what did I tell you, a rehash, a young jedi is trained by an experienced jedi, there is a vision sequence (they ingored it in TFA but okay), there is a confrontation which might end miserably for the protagonist and a family reveal and there are walkers, just like ESB" (my God my head feels so empty and lazy when I make this comparison. I feel stupid. Do these people who constantly make these comparison's feel stupid as well. I feel you )

But hey, didn't we also see that exact same stuff in AOTC.............and most of the SW stories produced in the last 40 years.

I'd say, kill one of them. A movie needs to be engaging and the audience and characters need to be confronted by a real threat.

@Chrisl Wow great point, I hadn't thought about it that way but that indeed would be the worst thing to happen.....

 

Poop & fart humor like Episode One.
Bad racist accents on aliens, also like Episode One.
Lots of Episode 2-esque romantic dialogue ... for a bonus, make it between Maz & Chewie.
Phasma falls into some monster's mouth and dies to set up a burp joke.
Palpatine clones.
A climactic battle involving Ewoks & Gungans.
Kylo gets all emo, rethinking his ways, and throws himself upon his saber.
Rey's parents are Luke & Leia.

 

For me the worse thing that could happen would be a complete Re-hash of 'Empire Strikes back' if the plot goes something like:

• The First Order attacks The Resistance base Poe has to rescue Finn and Leia and fly the out of the base and go on an adventure.
• While Rey is trying to get trained by Luke who at first refuses to do so but then does, she has a force vision of her friends been in danger and flies of to save them
• Rey has an epic confrontation with Kylo and Knights of Ren that leads to a dramatic revelation about her parenthood.

Then i will walk out the theatre incredibly disappointed.

 

Is that the name of a new droid?

The worst thing that could happen is that I don't like it. If I love it, then that won't happen.

Also, If Maul comes back from the dead again with a robot head it would be pretty bad.

 

The worst thing that could happen . . .
They bring back to life (somehow) and it IS Han, not a dream sequence, clone, or some other rubbish. Then kill him again.

 

ESB rehash is my biggest fear.

But I have full faith in Johnson delivering something unique.

 

The worst thing(s) that could happen for me would be:

1) Snoke continues to be uninteresting. They really need to give his cause some potency, because right now he's basically Diet Palpatine, and I'm bored.

2) No word on Rey's family. Like, this sh*t better be good, because they've sacrificed us really getting to know Rey and why she has her powers in service of this mystery, so the pay off has got to be good.

3) No Luke/Leia reunion. They've already robbed these characters of a happy ending, and with Carrie gone, it's really now or never.

and I guess, 4) Poe dying. He's too beautiful to die.

 

Carrie Fisher might have pushed their hand on that one.

I wondered with Carrie Fisher now dead if they would try to bring Han back somehow.

 

the rehash fear of ESB is a big one

We already saw theres walkers and some kind of new speeders
Theres Jedi/force training so thats there like in ESB
The Resistance fleeing is also something that would suck. They need to stand up and loose

I trust RJ deeply so im sure he will make something unique. I Think the Poe/Rose/Finn adventure vs. Chewie/Luke/Rey will make a good movie dynamic.

I can bare with anything as long as its fresh, feels like a new adventure and makes me feel like Rogue One and TFA did. I accepted that TFA was a little like ANH dont care much about that issue, but i want this to be different!
