The WORST thing that could happen in TLJ

I grew up with Luke Skywalker in the 80's, so he's my all time favourite movie character, but don't hate in me for this... I really don't want him whipping out a lightsaber and fighting badass style. Luke had his films, he's forever a Hero.

This is Reys films now, she must eclipse everyone else. She is our awesome Hero now.

Sure Luke can levitate ala Yoda in Degobah style, but go easy I hope.

I would love if Luke kills them all. Because they are bad ass it would show just how dangerous Luke really is.

My issue with this is that we never truly seen Luke get anywhere near mastering his abilities. We’ve seen Anakin, Kenobi, Kylo, and even Rey do some really cool things with the force, but Luke not so much. I know he is powerful, but he looks kind of average to me in the films.

 

I get that, but these films were limited to the 80s technology, I just used my imagination. It's just he's, what, 62 now, he should be classy, not doing Yoda spins like AOTC. Just my opinion

 

Well... I will say this, I think old Obi-Wan was 'slower' and more precise because he was so powerful with the force. No need for flailing and such. Old Luke may be the same. It's how Obi-Wan killed Maul in Rebels. Precise and efficient.

Yoda needs the twirls and stuff..... he so tiny

I like the direction of the new saber fights though. hearken back to ESB.

I loved the whole premise of Kylo and team actually showing up there. After training and bonding, the film and Rey opening up to much more (and, we assume, Luke opening up too) then we get the villains brining heck to the island.

I thought it was a great concept and hope to see it.

 

Remember what GL did with Palpatine and Yoda in the prequels... that was horrible. Hope to see Luke to fight like a mix of Old Ben and Qui-Gon.

 

Remember they fought like that because the PT was the heyday of the jedi order. There were old jedi who could fight very fast and Luke actually started becoming fast through the Ot so he could have gotten even faster over time but he doesnt really NEED to be so fast unless he faces someone who is strong like kylo.

 

I am a person that seen the prequels as a youngster and not OT. I loved Star Wars OT, but the powerful Jedi of the PT are my fav. I liked Yoda being bad. I don't think Luke needs to be prime physically, but strong in the force. Like Rougue One Vader was. He just really flashily killed those guys--a his flashiness cost him the death star plans. He could have been more economically.

I hope Luke Rivals those Jedi in skill and power, but more subtle because he's older, more refined.

 

It would be interesting to see him fighting extremely fast except with really simple and fast strokes

 

I can die peacefully if we get to see Luke ignite and use his green lightsaber in battle. Not doing so would be the worst possibility for me (other than it being a poor movie).

 

Almost like an extended scene of the Maul and Kenobi fight from Rebels. Where it's clear Luke has transcended his foes.

I agree. Luke in action on screen is a must for me.

 

Yeah sort of, imagine a style mixture of Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon from the prequels.

If you are going to be following my comments to give me negative quotes at least be a man about it and write your reasons for the dislike and the disagree to see if your points are valid cause it's easy to follow someone you have argued with in the past and just slap the negative for funs sake. Finn constantly being saved by the Rose character.

 

For me, Luke and Leia not having a scene together/not meeting in the film and then Leia being killed off.

It still feels wrong that Luke and Han will never have a scene together in the ST, especially after Han's reaction to Finn and Rey questioning him about Luke in TFA. Love that scene. Ford really nailed it.

 

Finn only appears for 5 minutes of the movie.

 

Hopefully they can have a flashback scene.

 

To me, Luke's power is in his mentality, not in his powers. He was never the greatest fighter but he just understood the force intuitively. I don't need to see him fight, I want to see him teach!

If he does fight though, it should be primarily through Force powers and not through lightning fast moves. I feel like his fight in RoTJ caused him to sort of transcend the need for light saber battles. But you know what? As long as Luke's on screen I'm going to be happy!

Kylo destroys Luke's lightsaber. Can't bear to watch that.
