Im on my phone but from the clip where Finn and Rey are running I found another mistake..
1st - when theyre running towards quad jumper the camera from behind has Finn on the right side of Rey.. Next shot he is at the left side of her... The second one is them stopping and then stopping again..

Is it something to worry about? It looks like a lazy post production! Opinions please

He's behind her. He kind of crosses over from the right to the left.

Might be more helpful if you showed the clip. But I got the impression there was a lot of running around so it might be cut together footage and are two moments from a long running around sequence. Who knows it might be flipped frames too. My money is simply on the next shot as you say is from a different moment.

Yeah its edited down. Even just a few seconds could have Finn who is a few steps behind Rey is moving from behind to her right to behind to her left.

LOL, yes to me it is pretty obvious he is 'veering' left, before it cuts to the front view. Why do people worry about stuff like this? Do you think they have never made a movie before?

Those two edits are weird for sure. Not sure why they did that. Especially the double stopping.

I honestly would never have given this clip a second thought for being a mistake. He is on the same side the entire time, it's just the angle of the camera is more to the side when shown from the front. And as they slow down, I have no problem with that second shot of them stopping again. It's not like they swapped clothes or something. I guess I just get lost in the action and music to look for that kind of stuff.

as it's the only "clip" so far it will get scrutinized beyond belief, once it's back in the movie i doubt anyone would pick up on it but as it's all there is out there to date it will be picked apart (scavengers!)

I must admit, the double stopping is a little... odd. Maybe they only got one take of the explosion? I guess they're relying on people focusing on the explosion first and foremost.

Rey and Finn stopping for the second time is a great shot, though, so I'm happy to let it slide. :D

I suppose this is true. However, it doesn't stop it from being extremely silly.

I always wondered how bored people have to be to make these tiny continuity nitpicks.

Yeah it's off by a little bit but most of that is the camera switching from 7o'clock to 11o'clock. Never would have noticed, just like 99% of actual continuity errors(this doesn't count as an error IMO).

yes.. let's criticize post-production because half a second goes by in a 2.5 hour long movie where one of the characters may have crossed over to the other side of the screen.. oh and let's not forget, no one has seen the film.. star wars fans are ridiculous beyond measure. if you spend your time analyzing these types of things, you need some better hobbies.

It really boils down to the scene not being choreographed precisely for every camera angle. Unless the running is a cut down. The double stop is just weird. Dammit I hope this isn't part of a larger problem with the movie.

Good grief. Let's try to be Star Wars fans and not technical film critics and just enjoy this movie. There will always be some inconsistencies in these movies and it's going to be a giant buzz kill if after the movie is released we are on here debating technical aspects of film editing rather than the first Star Wars movie in a long, long time.

Actually they aren't stopping twice. On the last shot the camera is pushing into them.

In TPM Jar Jar supposedly "drops" on the wrong side of the camera and this has led to a popular theory of him being a Sith Lord. Maybe this double stopping is a Deja Vu and references to the Matrix so this is all one big shared cinematic universe and Disney will take over Warner Brothers and we'll finally get a good "The Matrix" game.

If Jar Jar appears in ANH then he is definitely a sith lord, he has been there from the beginning, watching from the shadows, biding his time...

He will not rest until the last Jedi is destroyed, after which he will clone himself, agent Smith style and we will witness the Jarniverse
