A simp is someone who is a pushover for woman. Han solo's character became a simp in ROTJ.

Rey may not have been masculine like Luke... but Luke wasn't very masculine either.

    This poster is pretty misleading:

    You forgot Chewy!
He is for sure a character and he's pretty masculine carrying around that big old bowcaster of his.

Man. That's a really really narrow view of masculinity.

Is your "masculinity" so fragile that you need the reinforcement of females being not on equal footing in your movies?

    That's sad. That's seriously sad.

When a man entering an equal partnership with a woman and another admitting he has heart without being ashamed of it and a third being conflicted about evil makes them less in your eyes... son, you got problems.

I smile every time I see that poster. In fact, I love this misleading marketing of Luke and Leia so much that I have this cool curved glass (for Corellian ale, I guess) that has this particular picture of them imprinted on it. People thought they were going to see a strapping young man and voluptuous young woman a la Capt. Kirk and his woman-of-the-week, but what they got were two skinny teenagers. Lol.

Man, you are 21?! I convinced myself that you were born in the 1950s.

I cannot say it better than @Fussel2107 . It's 2016, get with the program: man can be partner to a woman, have feelings and fears and doubts. It doesn't make him any less of a man, it makes him human. And as a Star Wars fan, you should know by now, after seven films, that there will never be any Terminators or James Bonds in it (and even them adjusted to the times).

Some people would argue that it was pretty damn manly (especially in a paternal way) for Han to go to Ben when he had a clear shot at escaping undetected. Masculinity isn't John Wayne backhanding a bar wench. But a man doing what the mother of his child asks him to, putting the needs of those he cares about in front of his own, that's the definition of being a man. Also, it's hard to call Rey masculine with those dainty ankles and girlish face (but have you seen her chow down on some quarter portions?) but she is more than capable of handling herself in many situations. To be perfectly honest, I've been pretty sure that the OP has been trolling us with his over-the-top criticism of TFA so I normally ignore him, but this post made me laugh.

Well what about Unkar Plutt? Wasn't he a manly man? He was rough and he was tough and yet he was so sweet inside that he served as a father figure for Rey! He cared for her ever since she was a child and he showed her how to fight, how to pilot ships, how to repair stuff, how to scavenge stuff, how to survive in that harsh desert and best of all, he was extremly careful of not letting her gain to much weight like he had and that's why he gave her controlled portions of food! Unkar Plutt was the man!!!

True, I left the theater feeling bad about my balls, what a terrible experiment.
