The small nods to the previous movies in VII really brought out the fanboy in me.

The dejarik scene was awesome, but I especially loved when Finn was digging through some boxes on the Falcon and pulled out the combat remote.

I would have liked to have seen some nods toward the PT, but I'll take what we got.

So what are the little things you liked in TFA?

There were indeed some nods to the PT my friend! On Jakku you can see a pair of Pod Racer engines and Sebulba and 2 other Pod Recer pilots flags can be seen in Maz Kanata's castle. Another nod to the PT was when Kylo Ren asked Hux if a clone army would be better.
Regarding the little things I liked I have to say it was awesome seeing the little guy with the mace from the Dejarik game having revenge on his ANH agressor. I also loved the AT AT wreck in wich Rey lived and seeing the combat remote on the Falcon.

The comic timing between Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, particularly so when Rey asks Finn to pass her a particular tool in the Falcon repair scene.

Ah yeah, you're right! I forgot about all of those. The clone army one was clever I thought :)

I loved all the old Imperial wrecks on Jacku, kinda served as a reminder that the Empire no longer exists and nice to see an AT-AT being put to good use! Would have like to have seen more remnants from the PTs too like those awful yellow starfighters and all the other terrible designs from that era! Would have liked to have seen more of Jakku too but maybe we will return to it in EP8 or 9.

What do you mean my friend? I had once heard that JJ wanted to put his bones in Jakku but I never saw them. Is there something about him that I missed?

Tbh, I'd like to see JJ Abrams bones as well as JJ Binks just for regurgitating the death star killer plot!

    • Finn's Stormtooper name FN-2187 the same as the cell block where Princess Leia was held in ANH.
    • The X-wing pilot doll in Rey's room.
    • Grabbing for the breath masks before Han & Chewie enter the MF
    • The shooting guidance screens on the MF quad-laser cannons from ANH
    • The laser cannon towers on the Starkiller trench were the same/similar design as the ones on Death Star 1 trench
    • Moisture Vaporators on Jakku

Yeah, the moisture vaporators were a brilliant little touch and make a lot of sense with Jakku being a desert planet! Really hope we see more of Jakku in the future!
