Couldn't get on with D-O as it was Abrams voice. Couldn't suspend reality to enjoy the character due to that.

I didn't know that and honestly wouldn't be able to tell anyway, but I can see how if you knew it was beforehand that might make it harder to relate to it being a droid, I felt similar with Richard Ayoade in The Mandalorian as his voice is so recognisable to me from the IT crowd

Well I did my second viewing earlier, that'll probably be it now until it's out on Blu Ray.

I was less critical of it this time around and could actually just settle down and watch it but I'm still not fulfilled by it unfortunately, which I'm gutted about.

It just didn't hit enough sweet spots for me and felt like most of the plot missed it's opportunity/potential and took the easy way out too many times. Again I really enjoyed it around the middle of the film.

I liked some of the fan service bits, some of them were nice touches - just have an issue with most of the plot, the lack of detail and resolutions for some of the characters.

I don't hate it, it's just not one of my favourites and still the weakest of the trilogy, for me.

I picked up it being his voice straight away unfortunately. Couldn't then get passed that on both viewings.

Felt the same as you with Richard Ayoade also : )

So we hear pretty much all of the Jedi talking to Rey including Ahsoka, so we assume she dies with no end story, unless of course they have plans for her to show up in a tv show.
Also we don’t hear from Ezra, why would that be? when we heard Kanan, is Ezra still alive or just never learnt that Force technique from Kanan..

    Spoiler review:

Just got back from seeing it with my 18 yo, 15 yo and 13 yo... Everyone loved it, much better than the first 2 ST episodes.
Don’t believe all of the reactions on both sides of the coin... it is by no means awful, but not utterly amazing.
I was expecting way more “fan service” - which is fine with me- but what they did was just fine.
It is harried, and sometimes the emotional reactions I think the movie was trying to illicit missed thy r mark at times, it was a fun movie to watch.
Loved the interactions among the cast, c3po has some of the best lines, the loved Finn A lot better in this film than the first 2, and some new-to -screen force powers...
Still processing it, will see it again tomorrow night...
Right now... 8 out of 10

    just got done watching it.
in my theatre, a woman started straight up sobbing when Han appeared.

no, it wasn't me, but she did nearly get me going.

Great point about the X-Wing...I believe Luke was using one of its wings as the door of his hut in VIII. I suppose his force ghost repaired it in his down time. It seems glaring when I think about it, but fortunately the film had me totally engrossed so that I didn’t think about this while watching.

Yes! It was referenced in Aftermath, but I believe it was first depicted in the climactic battle of “Knights of the Old Republic.”

If there was ever a film that needed an extended Director's Cut its this one! So much to unpack and you just know there's a lot of unused footage.

I loved it but wish for some parts to be better.

    Will Fnn become Jedi?
Sad Ben and Rey did not get to explore their love.
    Ghost Anakin missed opportunity.
They sorta undid what Vader achieved.
Kudos to Kylo/Ben learning how to save the ones he loved which was what Vader wanted for Pademe. Ben gave his life force to save Rey.
Was bit to easy for Rey to take down Palpatine.
They really never recaptured the X-Wing and combat feels you got from OT.
I’m not mad anymore about Luke.
Awesome Job getting Carie Fisher in there.
    Need a Calamari in there.
    Ben redemption was perfect.
Silly the Destroyers stuck on planet.
How did Anakin bring balance to the force?
I was satisfied overall with endings.

Who says that Rey only hears the voices of dead Jedi?

She specifically states she can't hear the voices of past Jedi. Past in this case, meaning deceased/ no longer around.
Every single character aside from Ahsoka has passed on, Ahsoka won't be an outlier, she is 100% gone.

^ Alive or dead, Asokha is a "past" Jedi because she left the Order.

You seem to be assuming, without much evidence, that "past" means "dead" when it really doesn't.

I don't like changes or extensions of movies, but in TROS's case I will have to agree.

Loved the film. So many thoughts processing, might need Babu Frik to help sort out my wiring. I'll start with this:

I loved the camrederie of Rey, Finn, and Poe. Thought the friendly jabs and banter was done extremely well, seemed very natural. I think it took longer than I expected but I'm so ready to hand the keys over to them (helluva time for the saga to end, I want so much more from them!). I've liked them all individually up until this film... but now I love them as a group.

Hell, for a split second I even thought Hux was going to get to join the band.

And on another unrelated note: my favorite "little" moment was Rey passing the saber to Ben via their Force connection. Or was that a big moment?? Oh well. Freakin loved all of this movie.

*THIS IS JUST ME VENTING FOR A MINUTE DO NOT TAKE THIS SERIOUS*

I truly hated most of the decisions they made with Kylo Ren, who was really the heart and soul of this trilogy.
I think this is really giving me the feeling of not liking it a lot more than I might.
Bits of him were fine but they really turned him into a exposition machine with no agency.
Then the "return" happens, which is fine, I guess but it's so bogged down by the silliness around it, we should be staying on our leads for this. We should be FEELING things.

In the right thread this time.
    Woop.

It absolutely does, within this context.
Why would she be instructed to contact everyone who was once a Jedi, alive or dead?
The voices of past Jedi who come to her aid is meant to mirror how all the deceased Sith have come to Palpatine's aid. Hence why when he proclaims "I am all of the Sith", she replies "and I am all of the Jedi".
