And we have to remember that the only visions that didn't actively 'upset' or 'disturb' characters was Yoda's vision of Anakin killing sandpeople, however vague it was to Yoda at the time, and Rey's vision in the cave, which is unique because she didn't fear the vision.

Remember, as a teenager, how it felt to have your personal space invaded? What if your mentor invaded your mind while you slept? Lightsaber or no lightsaber (as the Rashomon sequencing shows us), it's still a violation of privacy that would upset a teenager that's likely feeling his privilege and his burden - and he's still stuck in that fearful mindset, unable to let go of the past and wanting to strangle/burn it.

In the first flash back scene when they show the exterior of Luke's Jedi academy, it is pitch dark, I don't know whether it is shrubs or grass outside the Jedi academy. Tatooine is not completely devoid of plant life, in fact in ANH and AOTC one can spot a few shrubs near the igloo and surrounding the hollow compound of Cleigg/Owen Lars.

Technically it's possible to come up with a unique place on Tatooine where there is more life (because the temple emanates the Force?) but it's a massive stretch IMO.

 

Yes there is a lot of grass. I was referring to another shot of Luke's Jedi academy where two moons are visible but it is the same foreground which is shown in that scene only exception is grass is not visible in that scene it's pitch dark.
