TLJ Second Trailer. When and Where ??

If they do it TFA style, then 1 trailer then an international one

If they do it RO style, then another 2 trailers and an international one.

 

Don't care if it is on TV, internet, or theater. Just hope it soon.

I would go for a flipbook at the moment.

 

I think we must be a bit burned out, but it seems to me that there is less interest and unrest this time around than with TFA, even myself as evidenced by my mostly absent presence this year and last. I'm barely starting to have mini craves for a new trailer, and I don't want to wait until October for one.

Right now a teaser would be great, especially with all that's going on in the nation, it would help with coping.

 

I don't know about being burned out but just a little perplexed at the marketing this time around. It seemed like there was a template with Force Awakens and then a slightly different one with Rogue One but they shared a few similarities. Disregarding the first teaser for Force Awakens they both had a teaser in the spring, then a behind-the-scenes reel in the summer followed by another teaser near the end of summer and then a mid-fall trailer release. The only real difference was that Force Awakens second teaser was the Korean TV spot but there still seemed to be a pattern that was being followed.

I would just like to see a teaser or trailer that gives a little bit of an idea about what the story is about. I was a little bit underwhelmed with the Last Jedi teaser simply because it failed to give much sense of the scale of the movie. It almost seemed like they were intentionally downplaying parts of it. I don't know if it was a reaction to how the Force Awakens was perceived as playing it a little too safe in regards to story or how people thought that they copied A New Hope too much. In any event, I would not be surprised if they're trying to strike the perfect balance between whetting fan's appetites and showing too much. I'd just like to see a little bit more of something to take us up to the full preview.

Right now I don't have much on this. Did hear that some testing has been done. I still think we are getting a trailer in the next month. No info on a time though.
Since I have failed you here I will give you some other stuff. Can't share too much but expect a live action star wars series with a game of thrones budget on either Netflix or Disney's newly announced streaming service in 2019 - 2020 time frame. Things could change, but i have been hearing about this for quite a while so I feel pretty confident it's gonna happen. VR wise if you have a vr headset or have been interested in it there are a lot of things planned for that tech. Obviously, they have already announced the stuff for the park, coming out with a starwars branded headset, and a couple other things. On top of that there are some original experiences that they are working on for the major platforms.

 

^^^Thanks for that info. Didn't the TFA trailer come out in late September? Probably going to be the case with TLJ.

Interesting to hear that one has been tested now. Makes me wonder if we are getting a september and november trailer to keep with the 4 promo video tradition or they are simply changing to a 3 promo system now.

As i've said before, i'm not sure why you'd drop a promo opportunity when 4 has worked so well for both star wars movies, but i'm not in marketing so what do I know

It probably will. But for some reason I am 100% ok with it .. As long as we get more images before the full trailer.

 

Even though we got a few articles that didn't say much, with all the speculating, debating and wondering, I think I could use a break from all of this. A trailer only in October sounds nice.

 

October 16th, around 9:00 EST, airing during MNF on ESPN. Heard it here first, folks

 

Octoberish puts it in range of Inhumans ABC premier on September 29th. Or some other ABC premier Agents of Shield maybe.

 

I'm starting to fall into the camp that doesn't want a trailer. It's just a few months now- if I can walk into a theater and see a new Star Wars with very little knowledge of what to expect in December, that's sounds pretty cool to me.

Maybe just if anything, we could get a teaser of something, like Kylo putting back on his mask or something.
