(I put the thread in spoiler tags as it is more than likely that one or more of the poll's options will prove true).

In the Solo trailer, Beckett gives Solo (presumably) an advice: “Assume everyone will betray you, and you will never be disappointed.” So, by writing logic, this is a clear indication that someone is going to betray Solo in this film, so who do you guys think that might be?

Lando would be an obvious choice, although I don’t think this is the case because it would be too obvious AND one gets the feeling from ESB that it is Han who have betrayed Lando earlier, not the other way around (although this is a matter of personal interpretation).

I believe the betrayer is Qi’ra, Han’s youthhood friend and right-hand woman. For the betrayal to be poignant, the betrayer has to be someone close to Han, and the long history of Han & Qi’ra makes her a strong contender. Another possibility is Beckett himself, the advice setting up the “I told you not to trust me” trope (basically making Beckett into a Littlefinger character). Personally, I think it is Qi’ra.

What do you guys think? (han)(chewbacca)

I put Qi'ra, Beckett, and Val.

My guess is that any combination of them will betray Han, and that L3-37 and whoever isn't involved in the betrayal out of those three (if any) will be fatal repercussions of it.

For example, I think that it seems likely that Beckett betrays Han, but consider this:

What if Qi'Ra and Val betray Han, and in the process Becket and L3-37 are killed, providing personal motivation for not only Han but Lando as well?

I voted for Qi’ra Val Beckett & Voss as I personally can see the gang turning on each other to get a bigger share of whatever the6 steal for Voss & then Voss turning on the whole group once he gets what he wants.
But the one that will have the biggest impact on Han is Qi’ra.

Also who voted for Chewbacca .

Definitely Beckett and Qi'ra. Having Beckett as the mentor who is betraying his own student is a pretty common theme. I like to compare it with Bruce Wayne and Ra's Al Ghul from "Batman Begins".
Qi'ra will play with Han too, but eventually she will realize she's doing the wrong thing.

It's not gonna be Lando, because they seemed to be at good terms in the ESB and (this is important) people, who make this have to take into account that some viewers might be watching the SW movies for the first time chronologically, so if Lando betrays Han now, his betrayal during the ESB wouldn't work.
I'm sure it's Qi'ra and there have been plenty of discussion as to why. Both Beckett and Val are criminals that Han met fairly recently, so even if they both betray him, it won't have so much of an impact.
There is this "Chewie"... person/thing in this movie. I dunno, so I'm reserving judgment until I see the movie.

    Bria Tharen clone confirmed.
Qi'Ra will agree that she will leave previous life with the Rebellion behind and live a normal life with Han. Only to betray him by negating on that promise at the last minute, dying at the canon battle of Taprawa.

The Kasdans said they read Treasure Island and looked at Long John Silver's relationship with Jim Hawkins as the inspiration of Han and Beckett so that makes me think Beckett will betray Han like Long John did to Jim. But thats also very direct, personally I hope its Qi'Ra.

Qi'Ra will remain good or have a good reason to betray Han. Because, KK.

Well Beckett’s line does foreshadow Lando’s betrayal in ESB. As far as in the actual Solo movie itself I would think either Qi’ra, Beckett or both.

    That's quite possible, but I hope it's Qi'ra anyway.

I don't want it to be Qi'ra because it's so obvious. I would rather they subvert it somehow. The problem is that we're already expecting a betrayal going into the movie: either because we are genre savvy to predict tropes that have a big chance of happening or because the trailer just clued us in.

I’d say it is because we are genre savvy as many have been speculating in a betrayal from someone long before the trailer dropped.

"Yeah, they’ve known each other for a long time and she’s a very important person in his life.

I think she has a slightly different way of handling herself in this tough universe. She’s better at working the system rather than bucking against it."-Alden Ehrenreich on Qira and Han

Based on that statement, it seems plausible that Qira and Han have a major falling out. Could be Qira who betrays Han. I'm not saying she will but obviously she views the galaxy differently than Han does.

Beckett as the big traitor is a bit too predictable. Well, in a group of scoundrels everybody is kind of predictable... My guess is that Han will be betrayed by everybody (perhaps in different ways) except Chewbacca.

Put me down for the too obvious Beckett and Qi'ra and/or the copoutish to some degree everyone (even if Han doesn't really blame them on a personal level for doing so) except Chewbacca.

Chewie really shouldn't be an option other than I guess he conceivably could do something for Han but Solo mistakes it for a betrayal.
Chewbacca is the most honorable fella we know in this galaxy, he wouldn't sell out even Threepio not even if he was angry with old Goldenrod enough to smash him to bits himself.

Chewie is the kind of hard core loyal that he will go along with a completely foreseeable pooch screwing even at the risk of his own life just because he soooo has your back.

Doubly so or more when you are Han Solo.

Beckett's advice is particularly crushing when viewed through the lens of Force Awakens. A bit of tragic "foreshadowing" there.

True. If you look at the foreshadowing that occurs through Beckett’s line, the link is that Kasdan has had his hands in all of it.
