Now, this might sound like a rant, but in fact, it's more of an observation about what I see going on, as opposed to what's not going on.

    Vader is going on....EVERYWHERE.

In retrospect, the reason we're here is essentially because of Vader, and who he was, why he was, and his legacy...right? Right.

For the fans of Vader, they're never going to run out of new material on him in the foreseeable future, as it just keeps coming, and coming, and coming. We are continually being spoon-fed servings of Vader in the movies and publications, especially the comics, and I concede that if they sell (which they apparently are) that they'll keep producing them, but how much of him is too much??

Of course (as I said before) this saga is a result of Vader which I get, but we keep getting stories about the exploits of our famous angry and Sithy fallen Jedi, and to me, it almost seems to be getting old.

    What brought this to my attention was the latest display at NYCC 2018 of all of the upcoming publications about TGFFA and there were six more titles that I could see that were with/about Vader....sigh, see below;

Now while I'm not a comic reader, the upcoming and existing Vader comics are not something that I care to read, and we're obviously going to get MORE material on Vader, and I personally would like LFL to expand their narrow horizon just a touch.

Normally, I'd just dismiss the Vader publications because I personally feel like I've gotten to know all about Vader that I need, and will just pass over them anyway, but THEN I saw (in the lower LH corner of the photo) the upcoming book by Claudia Gray called "Master & Apprentice" about Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, as well as the top LH corner comic that seems to have Qui-Gon on the cover and I thought "That's it...where are the Jedi stories...WHY so much Vader??"

I'd personally like to have more material related to the Jedi Order and their tales...give me a movie with the Jedi in it. Heck, we've gotten Rogue One...Vader was in it...our new trilogy is centered around Vader's grandson......Vader is EVERYWHERE....please give me some tales and movies about the Jedi, because I feel like i'm swiftly approaching the threshold of being used up on Vader.

Is it just me that wants something wider in scope?? How many stories can we tell about Vader before we've seen every minute of his life??

Can we have some Jedi please?

while i'm not that interested in more Jedi (though would not be opposed to more Luke), i'm all Vadered out.
i want more OT heroes post-RoTJ, more Inferno Squad-type stuff (Alphabet soup book could be interesting), and more Wild Space exploration or other new angles. how about a story about medics, or alien biologists, or miners, or the Church of the Force? and more Enfys Nest. XD

Vader makes money and that's great. i don't object to all the Vader, but i do wish it wasn't taking up space where other stuff could be happening.
this is why i'm so excited about Resistance: it's about pilots and there won't be any Vader and it doesn't look like there will be any light-saber wielding Jedi (yet).
the Mandalorian could also serve up cool non-Jedi/Sith Star Warsyness.
and for the people who want that, there will be the Clone Wars in the spring. : D

This is still better than a Vader movie IMO. I don't have to read these novels and comics, but I would have to watch a Vader movie because it's Star Wars. But yeah, we're getting too much Vader. I always wanted to see Vader's castle and "Vader's ghost" in the ST, but now it feels like "it's too much".

There's never too much Vader, he started us off in the movie journey, always room on other platforms.

Pretty much this. He's the star of Star Wars basically. The first two trilogies were about his rise, fall and redemption. In terms of importance I don't think any other character made as large of a footprint in the galaxy, for better and worse. He's more deserving of his heaps of material than say Boba Fett who became a constant presence in Star Wars material because we liked his armor. Granted, Vader's appearance had a lot to do with his popularity but he's also important enough to justify his constant presence.

Having said that, I don't want to constantly read/see Vader but I think that's easily avoided by just not reading all his stuff. They might be trying to spoonfeed us heaps of Vader but there's one time-tested defense for that...
