I had thought that Rebels was still just a few years after Episode III - but there is an episode where Leia is already a teenager, so there must have been some time lapse somewhere. Although Ezra doesn't seem to be much older...

They're born about the same day.

Sorry my phrasing wasn't clear. I meant, "Ezra doesn't look much older than he did at the beginning of the show." So it's hard to judge the timeline when one character seems to have aged faster than another.

I don't think he has changed much since episode 1 except for that shiny scar courtesy of the grand iniquisitor.

That finale was so darn good, my jaw was on the floor the entire time. I just wish they stopped showing so much stuff in the trailers! There is no way I am not going to watch a trailer when it comes out, I can't restrain myself. The thing is, they could make them so much less spoilery if they wanted to...

Ah well, it's about the journey, not the destination. It's such a fine line to walk with trailers, between amping up the excitement and hype, without giving too much away. I thought they did a reasonable job walking that line in the latest trailer. Am very hyped for the next season of Rebels now.

I still don't get why they shown Maul in the trailer... It would have been such a shocking moment to see him in that episode. Its not like they needed to overhype the season finale, everyone knew about Ahsoka and Vader showdown, might have at least left Maul as a surprise.

I was really talking about the trailer for S3 here.

You wouldn't have known it was Maul in the trailer for S2 unless you were a hard core fan anyway. Plus, I think the S2 story arc had enough surprises to justify the the early reveal of Maul. The hype created by knowing Maul was comming into the game again was enjoyment enough for me to compensate for the spoiler.

Wouldn't you have preferred to see him in the actual episode for the first time, rather than in the trailer?

No, because then I was excited and looked forward to it for a lot longer than I would have been excited from the reveal in the actual episode. I like anticipation more than surprises, but that's just me :) We're all different.

Fair enough, I would have been blown away by seeing him for the first time in the actual episode. Though I was very hyped after seeing him in the trailer so I see where you're coming from.

Season 1: Ezra is 14, becomes 15 on Empire Day.

Season 2: My guess is that the finale is shortly before Ezra's sixteenth birthday. He is a few days older than Luke and Leia and when she appears in Lothal, she introduces herself as "aide of Senator Organa". From canon we know she takes on her father senatorial seat at 16 so she hasn't yet when we see her in Rebels.

    Same here!
