Twitter/Internet Buzz for Episode IX

I know a lot of folks me included who didn't pay to see Solo, many, many more are even more pissed off than are boycotting everything Star Wars at the moment including Celebration. Am not sure they are targeting the right part of the audience it won't bring them back because they won't be there. Makes no sense at all. Unless they are courting just the celebration audience? Am actually confused who they are trying to court with the wording of the tweet.

 

People paid to go to Celebration. Also, its a five day event for fans. What's so hard to understand about that?

 

If they wait until Celebration the buzz and excitement over it will be greater then if they drop it on some random day of the week. If it gets a lot of positive buzz from Celebration it is more likely to reach those who have started losing interest in SW then the buzz created otherwise

The first TLJ teaser trailer (or, arguably just the first trailer) was released at Celebration. I can assure you that, while I definitely wasn't at the event, I still basically watched it live.

Celebration is, in my opinion, a lot more friendly to streaming at home than events like SDCC. I don't think any specific side of the fandom is being "courted", if something happens then. I'd assume they're just taking advantage of their big Star Wars weekend event to do something cool.

Doesnt make sense to me. For the people who dont like TLJ the best medicine would be to put out trailers earlier not later. Get them talking about something sooner rather then later. If they are going to be just negative whiners try to get it out of the way as fast as possible. If they continue to carry on they just look immature goofs.

Well if they are boycotting Celebration it didnt work very well. The VIP and full 5 day passes sold out immediatly and day 1. Not to mention the venue is much larger.

 

Listen just because I mentioned that some people I know are boycotting not myself, why are you guys lampooning me? To get a rise, to make fun of? Baiting? Am moved on from TLJ. I swear stop it. If your going to celebration good for you by the time April arrives, I have no idea where I will be never mind December. Just leave me alone and be happy you have a life and a future.

Whats the news about the title and teaser?

 

Trailer: Now guaranteed for Celebration and not any sooner.

Title: any time from Mid-feb till celebration. However with more any more news coming out about principal shooting wrapping in certain locations and certain actors wrapping, i'd be hard pressed to not see a title by mid-feb at the latest. The only way i see us getting to celebration without a title is if they are basically copying Avengers End Game and dropping the title with the full teaser at celebration.

 

As much as I want to know the title ASAP, I find the impact to be more powerful if they drop both the Title AND Teaser together at Celebration. The fans like us will always keep ourselves be informed but through this method, it can at least reach more audience members in the general public with the whole topic trending even higher on Social Media.

 

In my opinion the title would be overshadowed if announced together. Thats what was done for Avengers: Endgame and people talked about the trailer far, far more about the trailer then the title. Also it means the venue for Celebration will need to be void of the title of the film. The film will also be fighting for air with new TV shows, Animation, Video Games and Amusement Parks. I think far better for the title to also help with more positive speculation if it comes out soon.

 

I agree. There is a good chance the title gets overshadowed if announced at Celebration. Especially if they do it at the end of the teaser like Marvel did with Endgame. If they are going to announce the title at Celebration, it would be better if they announce it at the beginning of the Episode IX panel. Kathleen and JJ can come out. They can announce the title. They can discuss how great it was making the movie. They can bring the cast out to do their interviews and then finish with the teaser.

 

They need to sell EpIX merch at Celebration... therefore the title will obviously be announced long before then.
