    People said exactly the same for every Lord and Miller film. Personally, I am guilty of being prepared to hate on Lego Movie. Before I saw it. The way I choose to look at it now: Lord & Miller + Kasdans = I am giving it a shot. I don't know anything about the kid, I hear good things, so I'll reserve my judgement until I see it. And I am seeing it opening night.

    And if it's bad? The other movies don't stop existing and neither does Ford's Solo.

    I still find it pretty outrageous that Daisy Ridley saw the prequels first. She never saw the movies.. then went and watched the prequels first after getting the role.

    Someone at Disney didn't do their job right there.

    I think Disney wasn't involved in preproduction and casting. And that is something many actors do, to not get too determent, they have to define the role, and she did.

    Well it was her choice, we can't always assume the OT is everyone's cup of tea of viewing first, I guess she had to first find out where that trilogy went wrong the fan's eyes first before realizing she needed to make this trilogy as good as the OT with her on board.
    To true, the role was hers & hers alone.

    Oh dear. My guess is that she flipped a coin and the numerical order won. She might have decided that since maybe she heard a lot of suggestions from PT haters and OT haters than she got sick of it and left it to luck. Or maybe it has to do something with her origin, we don't know lol. But the coin seems like a sensible reason.

    I heard here somewhere that it takes place roughly 11 or so years before ANH so ONLY 8 years after ROTS so maybe we will see Han meet Chewie, or his retcon from what was supposed to happen in 'Revenge' where we first meet him watching the battle from afar as a homeless Tarzan-Type on Kashyyk OR we see him as an imperial officer and he feels really bad as to what happens and saves the wookies which is where the life debt starts and also "sort of" ties directly within the Galen Erso thing in rogue one
    .
