The first spoiler-free review for TLJ has hit - and it's good! (But I'l stick it under a spoiler tag anyway.)

Wow, that was a lot to digest. Some initial impressions

Don't worry guys. IMO It was incredible. Never had 2 and a half hours fly by so quickly. Probably won't come as a surprise when I say its darker and more serious compared with TFA. TFA also moved at a brisk pace while TLJ almost takes its time, but definitely wouldn't say its slow. That soundtrack! Also its a very nice looking movie, loved the vfx as usual.

Also you may have to give TFA a rewatch before seeing this. Now gotta wait for Episode 9, ffs.

Not sure how objective I can about Hamill and Fisher but I'll give it a shot. In the movie, Hamill in the movie goes for a "haunted by the past" performance and I thought he did it well. Its a important plot point as you might guess.. Seeing Fisher on screen depressed me horribly, but she was definitely given a lot more to do. Putting aside the last movie's losses and trying to forge a new path ahead. Ridley was fantastic as usual. "Eager for action and blood" role that she pulls off very well (no need to be held back by those old people anymore!). Driver in particular I thought was excellent. Determined to fix his own sh*t and legacy (that was shown in the previous film) and urged on by others. Isaac also has more additional time, that guy has charisma. There's some other important characters I haven't talked about yet for obvious reasons but overall I think performances were strong, though some of the new characters/performances are a bit uneven.

TLJ starts to build on characters at least compared with TFA hastily introducing everyone to Rebel vs Empire version 2. I can see why they want to give Johnson a trilogy.

Also I have an irrational hate of cute looking creatures in a Star Wars movie.

This guy is legit, just so we're clear. Two years ago, he did a review of TFA that was 95% accurate to what actually hit theaters.

He said that Luke intervened in the final battle, but this was to throw people off because they wouldn't stop asking him.

There are a few people who doubt his authenticity, I should note. So take this with a grain of salt.

95% of TFA's plot was out before the movie was out, there was the script on MSW/

The only thing we didn't know was the Rey / Kylo fight and he got that wrong.

16 hours till the red carpet. Red Carpet banter for ~ 2 hours? Then probably closer to 3 hours until the movie ends.

21-ish hours till social media reaction?

TFA red carpet was 1:47:12 for comparison.

I think the embargo for reactions is 9:30 PST. So I would say... around 10:00PST is when we will start seeing reactions.

I’m excited to see how the movie turns out.

Does anyone who's been following closely know some critics/notable people who are for sure going to be at the premiere, and are on Twitter? I'm making a list on Twitter called "TLJ Reactions" so I can see a feed of reactions to the movie once they start coming in, and right now all I have are the Collider people because I'm not sure who's going. Any help is much appreciated!

I live in ATL area we got snow and apparently John Boyega was here yesterday. He tweeted he is stranded (lot of flight cancellations) and may not make the world premiere. Anybody heard any update on this?
