    He last shaved on the 22nd of October.



    ... so his beard has been growing for a solid 3 months now.

    As for "in-universe."
    He only shaved on the last day of filming... probably after his work was done.

    No I mean back when they did the skellig micheal shoots, he didn't have a beard... (In september was it?) there's picks of him with no facial hair @ the pub nearby.

    Unless if he shaved like *right* after the shoot.

    It was only on the last day of filming that he didn't have a beard. He had been growing his beard back before September's shoot, and the photo's showed up after the 2nd-day of shooting had wrapped.
    They said he was heading back to the island the next morning for the 3rd and final day of shooting.

    Perhaps he was only went back the following day for moral support?
    Perhaps Luke shaves his beard during the film, starting on Skellig with a beard and returns there at the end without?
    Perhaps the beard is all a ruse?
