With the news that Episode IX will use unused footage of Carrie Fisher from episodes VII and VIII and the footage of Red and Gold leaders used in Rogue One, do you think we may see more of this in future films to bring back older characters without recasting?

Sure, if enough footage is left lying around. But what's probably going to be the way forward are Ant-Man-style de-aging and R1-style cgi. In 5-10 they should be able to "bring back" anyone.
