A Very insightful interview & those little insight into how Thrawn observes his fellow officers particularly there body language are fantastic.

A slew of promising reads have been announced at the Star Wars Authors Roundtable at Celebration Orlando!

IDW have announced that they have a few projects in the pipeline, with newspaper comics set for release in May of this year, and the following set due for release in January 2018. In addition, they have announced a children's comic called Star Wars Adventures, a monthly comic that will cover heroes of all periods of the galaxy far, far away.

To compliment the animated shorts Forces of Destiny, two children's book will be released in August and October of this year, featuring stories including Sabine, Ahsoka, Rey, Padmé, Leia and Jyn.

Younger readers will have the chance to enjoy a picture book about BB-8's adventures on Jakku, titled BB-8: On the Run, as well as the second entry in the Join the Resistance series, Escape from Vodran.

Also announced was The Journey to The Last Jedi, a series of books aimed at aiding, and building up to, the story of The Last Jedi. SWNN noted that they did not expect this line to be announced - given the little-to-no time having passed between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi - though I believe that this series will take place before the The Force Awakens, deepening our knowledge of the state of The First Order, the New Republic and, perhaps most importantly, the whereabouts and goings-on of Luke Skywalker.

Kicking off this series is none other than Delilah S. Dawson, who's novel, Phasma, aims to further explore the shiny chrome underused character, will be released this Fall. But that's not all for this character in this series: Captain Phasma, a 5-issue comic series, was announced, and will be penned by Kelly Thompson, with art by Marco Checchetto.

Perhaps even more exciting is the announcement of Leia, to be written by the excellent Claudia Gray, announced as a Young Adult novel (likely written in the same first person treatment of the character that we received in Bloodline). This is perhaps my favourite announcement, as I've been calling for Gray to be given a chance to write more on the character after her previous works and the untimely passing of our beloved Carrie Fisher. If anyone can do her - the actress and the character - justice in written form, I don't think they can go wrong with Claudia.

The final announcement was that of The Legends of Luke Skywalker, that will - trying to read the author from the cover of the book, so please correct me if I'm wrong - be written by Ken Liu. This has announced to be targeted at a younger audience, and whilst SWNN does cite some concern - but excitement - about this, I think we will likely see other comics and novels as we get closer to December.

Del Rey's panel is scheduled for later today, so be sure to stay tuned, and, as ever, may the Force be with you, always!

So, it will go all over timeline and I hope it will go to between RotJ and TFA, but we don't know yet as it is still top-secret according to Ken Liu who is writing it.

I don't know if they would confuse readers like that after saying that every book is canon. Maybe it can be framed as a second, third-hand storytelling, but I think the events should have happened. We'll see when they give us more info.

So are all the issues of Captain Phasma coming out before The Last Jedi? Have they announced when each issue is coming out? Or are they all coming out together? A lot of questions, I know, but if anybody could answer them that would be greatly appreciated!

Of all the Journey To The Last Jedi content announced so far, I'm a little underwhelmed by it. Don't get me wrong, I like the stuff they have announced, but it seems like there isn't going to be too much new stuff, compared to Journey To The Force Awakens. I know that TFA needed a lot of stuff to bridge the gap and whatnot, plus TLJ happens right after TFA, but I still want more. I only read the novels, some YA novels, and most of the comics, and there's only one of each coming out. (Unless if Legends of Luke Skywalker is YA, I'm not sure if it's Lost Star level or if it's Join The Resistance level, it seems to be the latter.) Plus two of those have to do with same character, Phasma. Oh well, I'm being a bit too nitpicky, and there might still be more coming out!

    http://www.starwars.com/news/swco-2017-marvel-reveals-captain-phasma-miniseries-exclusive

So, the comic bridges TFA and TLJ, since it is miniseries, it should all be published between September 10th (first issue) and December 15th (TLJ), the exact schedule was not announced yet, but I think three months for a 5-issue miniseries (all were 5 issues) is reasonable.

"The truths we cling to depend greatly on our point of view."

As I mention on the other thread, it they rely to include the urban tales and stories about that "legendary" Jedi knight from the point of view of different people across the galaxy, I'm game. It's like in Bloodline, remember when Ransolm is at that gathering with other Centrists and some of them are even doubting about Luke destroying the first Death Star? What about the events we have learned from the comics, let's say we hear about Nar Shaddaa or other places Luke has been around but from the POV of others rather than Luke. I'd like to read that.
