UPDATE 3! Carrie Fisher in Stable Condition After Reportedly Suffering Massive Heart Attack

Seriously. Stop this gibberish.

I know it is funny to speculate who's going to be Rey or who's Snoke but speculating over this - if she will be OK to film the rest of the trilogy or whatnot - is rude and tactless and definitely useless.

Sometimes the best we can do is send our best vibes and prayers for her recovery and that's it.

 

People who who already predict brain damage and doom for our beloved General forgets that Carrie received emergency medical aid on the plane. A nurse and a doctor took care of her, according to some reports, administrating CPR to keep her heart ticking and lungs breathing. That means her brain was likely NOT left starved for oxygen for 10 minutes, as some here seems to think. Furthermore, there is evidence that bodies of ex-addicts sometimes behave differently from others in times of crisis and trauma, their bodies being somewhat conditioned towards dealing with crisis. While there's no doubt this is a very serious matter for Carrie, there is always hope that she will make a full recovery and be back to her jolly self in a few months or so. What she needs is a bit of luck, and you all know what Obi Wan's experience say about luck...

The truth is that we know almost nothing about Carrie's condition and until we learn more, our speculations will be very sketchy indeed.

There's no reason to predict desaster and worry over the future of the Leia character, as Carrie is much more important and she may very well come out of this strong and healthy still.

Every moment that the heart is stopped, and the brain is without oxygen, means cell death for both. And 15 minutes is an eternity in a situation like that. Those in the medical field, like myself, can attest to this.

It is possible to both be realistic, and praying/hopeful at the same time. Leave the user be. This is definitely not the place for such attitude. Especially from a mod.

 

What means "stable condition" ? Is there any chance she could survive this without damage?

 

'Stable' means her condition is currently not deteriorating. Just 'under control'.

 

Saw this the other day. I'm glad she's ok. The Force is definetly with her.

 

Jus means her condition has improved enough to not be in ICU (if she is) but we still need to be optimistic since it doesn necessarily mean shes not entirely out of the woods yet

Same goes for the ones who are speculating how is Lucasfilm ending the ST in case the worst happens.

And yeah, I do have medical knowledge too, and to discuss that can be done in the best of intentions for information and such, but to bring up that kind of comments does not help. We might all be worried about her, but what is the point of giving our opinions or speculating about the potential consequences of the attack she suffered?

And believe me: I do know that since my father passed away this year due to a heart attack.

yeah heart attacks suck, ive had multiple family members have them. I believe it's okay to speculate but only if there is sensitivity involved aas well as being respectful

we're all equal unless...well, we're not lol. but let's try not to fight over this. I know it's a sensitive topic, as it should be with all of us hardcore fans, which is why were here for a friendly debate. Let's move on and just "Speculate" about her getting better instead of her being in another movie. I sure hope she will pull through though.
