The Lucca Comics and Games Festival recently kicked off in Italy. As has been the case in the past, with each new convention Hasbro likes to take that opportunity to whet our whistles with some new product announcements and image reveals.

This set of reveals includes some fun call backs to the prequel era and additional figures in the vintage 3.75' line which features new versions of classic figures. From the Black Series we have some very nice looking figures of Jedi Masters Plo Koon and Kit Fisto. Hasbro is also adding the sleek, curved, Assaj Ventress lightsaber to the ForceFX series. On the vintage side we have a bunch of great classic figures from the original trilogy as well as a vintage clone trooper figure.

So, whether you are a child of the OT or PT era, there is plenty to be excited about here. Check out all the high-res images below and stay tuned to SWNN for all the future roll outs from Hasbro.

    Update!

We've received more high-res images from Hasbro. This time involving reveals from the Barcelona Manga Convention. We've got more Black Series, more vintage series, and a Kit Fisto Force FX saber. Check them out below as well.

I want the Asajj Ventress Lightsaber! My secondary form is Makashi (Dooku’s) and my speciality form is Jar-Kai (Duo-wielding, Ventress’s form). :)

What makes Kit Fisto's lightsaber 'elite'?

He was the last Jedi Master to be slain by Palpatine before Mace bests the Chancwllor one on one:

    D364557C-A6FE-4ACF-A226-D3ED5F1AB9CA.png

    Mace is Diamond Elite
    Kit Fisto is Elite
The other two masters are Bronze Status. :D

Seriously though, Elite sabers are a brand of FX, much like the Black Series Figures. It usually means higher quality and attention to detail.

I think there are several "makes" of replica quality lightsabers being made, each with advantages and disadvantages. After reading lots of reviews, this is mostly the consensus I see. Of course, it's all opinion. Get what you like best.

    Hasbro Force FX Black Series
These are made by Hasbro and have the best sound, but the blade is permanently affixed. You can still find some of the older Hasbro sabers online that did have removable blades, but make sure before you buy. If you do find an older one with removable blade, they are not interchangeable with other hilts.

They also made a newer Force FX Elite version of Kylo's saber that has better light effects, more detail, and the blades do remove.

    Disney
Stores that aren't in Galaxy's Edge, like Disney Springs, sell a limited selection of lightsabers with Disney name branding. These do have removable blades and better details. They are also heavier than the Hasbro. The sound isn't as good as the Force FX though, but is still decent. These come with a stand and belt clip. Blades are included but are not interchangeable.

    Legacy Sabers
These are for sale in Galaxy's Edge and have the best detail. The sound is better than the Disney one, but not quite as good as the Force FX. The weight is comparable to the Disney lightsaber. The blade is removable but NOT included, however, all lightsaber blades from Galaxy's Edge are interchangeable, including the build-your-own.

Like I said at the start though, this info is just based on multiple reviews/opinions I've read online. I have an older Force FX Obi-Wan with removable blade, and two newer Force FX with permanent blades (Vader and Anakin). I've checked out the Disney version of Vader's saber in Disney Springs and it is indeed heavier and better detail than mine. I did notice the sound wasn't quite as good. I haven't been to Galaxy's Edge yet, but by all accounts those Legacy Sabers are top of the line. When I do go though, I'll likely build my own just for the experience.

I would search youtube for reviews on the specific lightsaber you want, comparing the Force FX and the Legacy (or Disney if applicable).

There are also several companies like Saber Forge and Ultra Sabers that make a wide variety of "familiar looking" designs.

I love lightsabers a lot. So much fun!

I've always thought Palpatine just let it look like Mace Windu had him beat to put on a show for Anakin, part of his manipulation. He didn't need Anakin's help. Palpatine could have taken Mace out if he wanted to. He just wanted Anakin to look at the Jedi differently.

Oh I thought your Thor response was directed at me saying Kit Fisto was the last to die prior to Mace one on one with Palpys. Yes, you do make a point that Windu may have only been made to believe he won. I frankly can see it either way; Mace won or was decieved into thinking he won.

    ___

The Kit Fisto FX Elite is neat. Fisto was awesome in Cartoon Network Clone Wars Series. I love his underwater battle.

My favorite lightsaber is the one Obi-Wan has in RotS (and the same but more weathered in ANH). If they release a Legacy version of that in Galaxy's Edge, it will be the one I get. Until then, I’ll build my own when I go there.

We also don’t know what new sabers we might see in TRoS.

A great saber! Luke’s in ROTJ is designed in a similiar pattern but with different metals and a green blade:

I myself prefer the Praetor handle used by Vader and Anakin EpII:
