Droids can be programmed and re-programmed. I don't think he wants to be at the mercy of droids that have some embedded assassin program during one of his bacta baths. And if that old man was Snoke, then that makes Snoke about 115 years old in TFA. I don't see that either.

I get what you're saying. Well, rumors are that Finn may be going on a mission to Corellia in Episode 8. Hopefully that's true, it's about damn time we've seen that planet, and I think it would be exactly what we're looking for in regards to a more unique environment- combination of forested areas and heavily urban areas, along with a ton of starship production areas.

Hmm.. I'm definitely glad they placed Vader's Castle on Mustafar. Something Abrams would never have the gonads to do. :) It's just getting a bit obnoxious they haven't really used nor referenced planets that were set in the EU or prequels.. I'm guessing they're saving Corellia for the Han Solo film, but maybe not.. Nar Shadaa, Onderon, Dantooine... No post Empire occupied Coruscant. Never going to see the Imperial Palace? Korriban?!? We have to read a book to figure out why they didn't mention the Geonosians building the death star in R1 even though that was the last we knew from the prequels? I'd much rather see a couple of these than the fan service they have pop up every 5 mintutes that doesn't even serve to the story.

I would have loved that also. I understand why they got the muscular guy (Spencer Wilding) to do the suit, but getting the glimpse of Christensen coming out of the bacta tank in R1 would have been flawless.

Well also Hayden is too short to be Vader and the architecture of his castle would have had to be specifically designed to be something like a forced perspective to make him taller

Why Mustafar? Why would Anakin construct a castle on the very planet where he lost his duel with Obi-Wan, along with his limbs?

Well, since the thread is getting a bit long, I can repeat some of the sentiment. First of all, it's been confirmed in some promotional material, that Vader's residence there is of Palpatine's design. Likely it's to fuel his hatred- it's a hot, miserable, dark place that has horrible connotations in his mind. Of course it's going to make his hatred stronger, which for a Sith, is advantageous.

I just listed off the places they used or were based on and you ignored it outside of Mustafar. There's been 2 movies since the PT. I honestly think Rogue One played with A LOT from the prequels.
Geonisians are a big part of Catalyst. By this stage they aren't really involved IIRC.

What fan service popped up every 5 minutes? I keep seeing this and aside from a few things, it really wasn't every 5 minutes and in a two hour movie I can only think of twice where it wasn't directly involved and fit perfectly in.
    1. Walrus Man. It didn't need to be there but it wasn't bad either. It was just there.
    2. C3PO and R2D2. They didn't need to talk, I will say that but it makes sense they are there.

Everything else fit in to the time period. Of course it's going to have a ton of calls to ANH, it's literally an hour before ANH happens.

It's where Darth Vader was born officially. It fuels his hate for the Jedi and Obi-Wan specifically.

Also, the castle is built over the top of a Sith cave.

Not a dark side cave, a SITH cave. I love that fact.

Me too. Part of me wonders, and I could be completely wrong - I'm sure someone's asked Pablo Hidalgo, but I wonder if they've incorporated parts of Korriban and Mustafar together or if they are one and the same? A Sith cave suggests to me perhaps there is an ancient burial ground.. artifacts of some sort.

Whatever the case, do you think Vader has access to it or has it long been plundered and destroyed?

Korriban... or should I say Moraband is still its own planet. It appeared in the last arc of TCW.

Almost too much of a coincidence that it's on Mustafar, looks like Palpatine somehow schemed and managed to have the Separatists congregate there.

Sorry to mention it, but when I saw the castle first, I couldn't help but giggle. But that's probably owed to the fact that it already made an appearance in the first draft for the ESB by Leigh Brackett (page # 66) - therefore I anticipated seeing Vader feeding his gargoyle pets out of a bowl he was holding. :D

I gotcha. Good for you if you're content with these films. I find TFA had good characters and that's what saved the film from being a total present Hollywood reboot heavy abomination of sorts. R1 was a below average war film that luckily had the lush SW universe and Darth Vader to rely on. If it was just a sci fi movie that couldn't rely on what George Lucas already built then it prob wouldn't have gotten into theaters or talked about in high regard at all.

I literally disagree with every single word you wrote after good characters.
