She also must have been on Yavin IV during R1, and left with her droids after the main bulk of the fleet was at Scarif engaging the Imperials.

Then docked, received the plans from Raddus' ship, and bolted.

The scene with R2 and 3PO on Yavin really fouls up the continuity for me. You could even say causes a plot hole. Bail had left in the previous scene and you can hear him address Capt. Antilles. So clearly there must have been a lot of time for Bail to be dropped off on Alderaan by Capt Antilles (leaving the droids behind) and then Leia and Antilles returning to Yavin (off screen) picking up the droids and then re-routing to Scarif upon hearing there was a battle. Then when Raddus is disabled she docks, takes the plans, and heads off to Tatooine to grab Obi-Wan.

WHEW, she's one busy lady! How much gas does one of them Corvettes have?

Agreed. Ultimately, if R2 and 3PO had to be seen on Yavin, it should've been earlier when Bail was leaving.

That wizard's just a crazy old man. LOL

Did you ever wonder if during down times in the Rebellion if Luke and Leia chatted?

Luke: "So we're like brother and sister. Twins even. Awesome."

    Leia: "Yeah."

Luke: "So you grew up on Alderaan, huh? I heard about it when I creeped your R2Tube video. (cough) Anyway what was that like?"

Leia: "Oh it was awesome. Beautiful green spaces, temperate climate, beautiful mountains, skiing. Two loving parents who made me a Princess - literally. How about you? What was uh, uhm. Tatooine like? (cringe)"

Luke: "Yeah it was a flaming dumpster and my uncle bitched at me all the time. All we had was rice and blue milk. I had to constantly fix his broke ass droids because he was too cheap to buy a decent one. We bought them hot from some Jawas who drove from farm to farm fencing them. Karma's a Vhlor though, some Imperial Troops came looking for a stolen one this one day and pew pew pew! LOL. Anyway, it sucked."

Well, who's to say he wasn't looking? There are people on earth who manage to pretty effectively evade whatever government they're trying to hide from. Now, multiply that by the number of planets in Star Wars, take into account that both Dagobah and Tatooine are pretty backwater and would have reduced/no Imperial presence to aid in the search, and also the fact that Jedi can surely use the Force to help stay hidden if necessary, it'd be really unlikely for either Obi Wan or Yoda to be found. Unless Vader wanted to switch his job to full time Obi Wan seeker, he's not likely to devote much time to it, and I'm sure several Imperial Departments were specifically in charge of hunting down Jedi (such as the Inquisitors) but the sheer size of the galaxy certainly gives advantage to the hiders, not the seekers.

Yep! If I were the writer I would have put them on the Tantive IV. Why? Because 3PO said he belonged to Captain Antilles. We don't see Antilles on Yavin and there is no evidence the Tantive IV can land so....

Don't we see it headed down to land on Coruscant in ROTS? Or one like it?

I know they've shown it somewhere, maybe one of the cartoons.

Actually, as Bail is leaving you hear him say "Capt. Antilles tell them...." then he fades out. So Antilles was on Yavin with the Tantive when Bail leaves for Alderaan. We also know R2 and 3PO were on Yavin when the fleet begins to take off for Scarif. This is what causes the biggest plot hole in my opinion.

We see a Consular-class cruiser land on the Trade Federation battlestation in TPM. That's kind of close, I guess, they're of relatively similar Freudian design.

Regarding the plot hole- I mean, I guess it is a plot hole, but not necessarily an error. It's possible Antilles could've docked with Raddus's ship at a later point.

Yeah, I thought the design was pretty cool, and just similar enough to Tantive IV to spark that nostalgia... just in time for the rest of the film to crush it.

True... but.... Well at least they tried...

    ep3_tantive_anh.jpg ep3_tantive_rots.jpg

It is made clear in the movie that the ship Bail Organa takes Yoda and Obi-Wan on is none other than the Tantive IV, the ship the rebels are in in the opening minutes of the original Star Wars movie, A New Hope. While the interior of the ship in Revenge of the Sith resembles that of the ship we see in A New Hope quite closely, the exterior bears only a basic resemblance. It is not quite clear what exactly happens between the two movies that causes the changes in shape, texture and color by the time A New Hope comes around. It is only clear that the graphics effects artists seemed to have no interest in doing anything other than trying to construct a new Tantive IV model with a computer using only their memory. If that is what was done, then I'd say they did a pretty good job. However, for future productions, they may be better served to examine the old models or even pictures of them. I didn't notice how it looked in RO.

Ok I thought it was recently retconed that Bail's ship in III is NOT the Tantive 4.

Ah ok, sure! I mean I hope that's the case because if it was supposed to be ROS missed by a mile. LOL

I mean, it would almost be like say, not transmitting the DeathStar plans to Tantive IV and just say... walking them on... ;):D

My understanding is that Organa's ship in ROTS was an Alderannian Cruiser, same model, but not the Tantive IV.

Maybe Bail and Leia have different ships? Daddy gets the bigger one with the built-in hangar underneath (where Obi-Wan landed) and Leia gets the smaller one, Tantive IV.

I have a question: was Leia on Yavin 4 when Bail Organa and Mon Mothma had their meeting? When Bail leaves, he is seen walking out the door saying: "Captain Antilles... I have a mission for you." Is it possible Leia was already inside the Tantive IV (although unseen) and Captain Antilles and the droids then immediately headed towards Scarif? Aren't Scarif and Tatooine near each other? And at the same time Bail headed to Alderaan on some other ship? Does a canonical answer exist yet?

Edit: I somehow missed @Laggamaroo just said the same thing on this same page...:p

Leia was too important to not be at the briefing if she was on Yavin. She had to still be on Alderaan. Plus it seemed like Bail was going to return home and tell Leia about the Obi-Wan mission.

The droids seem to be wherever Antilles is. Yet they are on Yavin when everyone departs for Scarif. Big mistake by Gareth Edwards. I guess we have to explain at away by saying Leia retured to Yavin to pick up the droids, then departed for Scarif. Still, it makes no sense.
