    It has arrived......finally!!!! This looks EPIC. It gave me chills. I haven't watched a trailer this many times in a row in quite a while. With the passing of Chadwick Boseman, hearing the Tems/Kendrick Lamar "no woman no cry/everything's gonna be all right" score brought tears to my eyes and I could feel the pain of that loss in the trailer. Namor looks dope and I'm digging the whole Aztec/Mayan Atlantean vibe.

    This trailer nearly made me cry, it's choice in music and visuals were so good! I'm not ready for it.

    And while I still heavily disagree with Marvel's decision to kill off T'Challa instead of recast the role, I hope they honor the character well within the movie. TROS felt like a slap in the face in many ways, not one of which was how they handled Carrie's passing IMO. I'm hoping that Marvel does better here.

    Honestly, one of the greatest trailers I've ever seen. I'm sure some of the meta-context surrounding both the MCU's current state and (far more importantly, Boseman's tragic death) fed into that, but man... it's just kinda nice to hear "everything is gonna be all right", even if it's just from a Marvel trailer. (yeah, I know that sounds cheesey, but there really is something comforting and beautiful with this thing)


    That said... I totally forgot Ironheart was in this! Super excited to see her enter the MCU!

    Nothing cheesy about that trailer, can't wait till November it's gonna be awesome. Who said the MCU is lame? Take a look at that trailer! Superhero fatigue hasn't set in for me, I hope this phase continues to improve film by film.

    On another note, I've always envisioned Namor to be this clean shaven pretty boy type. His interactions with the Fantastic Four, in the books he constantly tried to get Sue's attention, knowing that she was with Reed. So for me, I'd imagine him being an arrogant Prince of Atlantis. The bearded look definitely exemplifies that of an Aztec God. I really appreciate Marvel/MCU changing the character for the screen, I guess Namor's original look was too caucasian or European. Reading comicbooks since the '80's seeing how these characters are evolving today is refreshing at times, but takes getting used to. The last FF film we got a black Johnny Storm, to me that is blasphemy, and I'm a person of color... but these changes are rooted in reality so I'll take it. ( Johnny and Sue were adopted in that version, so it was a good spin on the original series, even though the film failed miserably).

    it's definitely a compelling trailer... like many folk, i genuinely wondered how the Black Panther arm of the franchise would go forward without it's lead actor, but this does suggest that Marvel have 'found a way' which both honours Boseman's instantly iconic role and allows them to carry the story forward.

    looking forward to the reveal in November

    With all the talk about who will replace T'Challa as the Black Panther... wasn't it confirmed a long time ago that
    Shuri
    would?

    Or am I just imagining that? I thought for sure that was confirmed somewhere.

    I don't know that it's ever been categorically confirmed anywhere. Even the trailer leaves you guessing, although the final shot before the title card does suggest that your spoiler name is correct. Intriguingly though, I'd heard other rumours and the close out of the Grace Randolph video that @Rogues1138 linked to above also calls into question whether there could be
    alternative or even multiple names
    taking on the mantle in the upcoming film.

    Same. I've heard both rumors, and I definitely prefer the latter one. But whatever choice the movie makes, I hope it does so excellently.

    The trailer was phenomenal: the choice of music, cinematography, the moments they chose (Ramonda's speech)... everything was superb.

    One thing is for sure, the movie will be emotional.

    Apropos new Black Panther, there was a toy leak and, unless it's Marvel's fake out,

    it's Shuri.

    I’d say that it’s a certainty the character will be involved, but it wouldn’t be the first time that a dual phase toy release was scheduled to protect a ‘reveal’ in the on screen aspect of the IP itself

    Everyone is speculating that the new black panther is Shurri. Makes sense based on evidence. Others are speculating that there could be multiple panthers. No one however has mentioned the possibility of the new black panther being RI Ri/Ironheart.

    I just really don't think it fits her role. She's the new Iron Man, not the new Black Panther. Looks like she'll be making (or at least upgrading) her suit in this film. Her becoming the Black Panther would distract from her being Iron Heart- and from a thematic perspective, it's a much more hollow symbolism than if someone T'challa actually knew took on the mantle.

    If anything, she might make a suit of armor that is more Black Panther-themed to fight alongside Shuri or whoever- and perhaps if there are multiple Black Panthers in this film, I suppose she might be counted as part o that group. But I think that she will be singularly known as Riri in this film, with "Ironheart" possibly being used as well.
