After what feels like a long time with no Marvel releases it was fun to watch the first 2 episodes last night. I really enjoyed the camp and unique approach they took. The commercials were an added bonus and I loved the little clues and in universe tie-ins. Can't wait for more!

I'm really enjoying the show too, as are my parents. My mom was in from the jump while my dad grumbled along, but soon became as hooked as the rest of us. Episode 4 was a major reversal of interest, with my dad really liking it while my mom (who had a busy day) feel asleep during it. But we all expected something like this so it wasn't surprising.

Which brings me to my one complaint with WandaVision and the MCU as a whole going foward - the show effectively throws SHIELD away in favor of SWORD. This isn't an unexpected thing, given how much more of a focus space is and that's what SWORD is focused on, and the fact that SHIELD fell by the wayside after Winter Soldier and how it has only really been kept alive in Agents of SHIELD. In my review of AoS I said that the MCU has outgrown the need for SHIELD; Episode 4 makes this abundantly clear. And while AoS and the Marvel Television/Netflix shows aren't necessarily canon anymore*, this sort of stings for those who followed these shows to the very end. It's not impossible for the MCU to rework AoS (or at least some of the characters) into the new folds, but now more than ever I doubt it.

*This is both good and bad. Shows like Iron Fist and Inhumans could use a canon erasure, but other things like Daredevil and Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones (and AoS) would do well staying as part of the new canon. Well, pieces of them anyways.

    OK.....let's get after this....

    1. Is it Wanda doing all of this on her own or is she being "manipulated"? I believe the latter.

    2. Is Agnes Agatha Harkness? I believe yes.

    3. Will we have any other Avengers involved in any upcoming episodes?

3: doubtful? But then again who knows. Technically, anyone who showed up at the Endgame battle are Avengers. Possibles: Hawkeye, Falcon and Winter Soldier.

So I know it looks like Wanda is responsible for this and in control right now, but let's not forget we're halfway through the season of a show that's built itself almost entirely on intrigue so far. If you think that there's not something else going on, I don't know what to tell ya.

I know it's kinda weird seeing SHIELD seemingly replaced by SWORD, but I think given SWORD's apparent focus on weaponry and Wanda's status, I think it's fair enough.

Also, consider that Fury (basically SHIELD at this point) is currently in space, and honestly the world is a big place. It's not like we think the FBI is gone because the CIA is on the case.

Regarding other Avengers, I kinda doubt it, with one caveat.

I've heard theories that Ant-Man might show up given Woo's presence, but you could say the same thing for Danvers and Rambeau or Thor and Darcey. It might happen, but I don't think it's a solid theory yet.

Strange might make sense, given Wanda's apparent involvement in his sequel coming up, but again I think it's a longshot.

    I have heard that
Evan Peters will show up, given that one of his dubbed foreign voice actors apparently leaked that. I also don't think it's a long shot that the MCU's Pietro may show up as well.

And other X-Men? Maybe this could be their introduction too. Imagine the final shot of the season is a newly cast Wolverine or Professor X emerging from a portal Wanda created.

I thought so too, but after Episode 4, I'm not so sure anymore...the trailers have Wanda and Vision agreeing to "fight for their town" against some enemy, but what if the trailer was misleading us, and it's actually Wanda and Vision fighting against SWORD for the way of life they're creating for themselves?

WandaVision was supposed to directly tie into Doctor Strange 2 originally, right? It may not be too much to wonder if someone from the first movie (probably more like Wong than Strange) shows up towards the end.

    Possible.

Seems like we have a ton of cameo crossovers already, but if I've learned anything from Mando over the past few months it's to never underestimate how many D+ is willing to add in. :p

Wong does seem a lot more likely than Strange. Good call.

Ok so I went back and rewatched Capt Marvel ( very good movie I thought) and you cannot deny the connection and strong relationship that Carol Danvers has with the young Monica Rambeau

If anyone I cannot think of a better Avenger to help out here than Capt Marvel....

Have found it fun so far. Really enjoyed the "Snap-back" scenes. Love the old-school studio audience setting.

Haven't the slightest idea of what is going on, my guess is that Wanda has really sunk into a dark place and someone has taken some liberties with that. It sucked seeing "Zombie" Vision, very sad part.

    WOW what an episode!

I think this one had the best balance between sitcom, plot, etc...

I've enjoyed the show so far especially for its aesthetics, but it was definitely a slowburn for a while. Feels like it's hitting its stride finally.

I wonder what X-Men universe Pietro's appearance means. I suppose there isn't even necessarily proof that he's from that universe (could just be clever casting, but... come on! You don't cast Evan Peters as the same exact character he was in a different universe, call attention to the fact that something is different, and then not pay off on that.

So... could other X-Men show up?

Eh, I think he is. Remember when in Ep 4 we saw the husk talking to Wanda?

Seems like she broke into SWORD, stole his husk, then brought him to Westview and is... for lack of a better word, puppeteering it around, using her Hex to make it appear as if he was alive. It's even possible I suppose that her magic has somehow given Vis some sort of semblance of consciousness, but I think it's all tied to her magic- if he leaves Westview, I'm almost certain he'd just be a husk. Which goes a long way to explaining why Wanda is so insistent that he absolutely does NOT leave.

So this is how they enter the MCU... through a sitcom (Pandemic) rather than films... KEWL (Wolverine PLzz :D).
I like slow burns... its great story telling... its not FILLER... (boba fett)

For example, the Expanse the last couple of episodes of season 5, some would consider FILLER because...
their favorite character took a back seat... (what happened to the Expanse? haha) then boom!!! he is showcased in the finale... all is well now... OY Vey

I know a lot of people dislike this YouTuber but she broke-down MCU+Marvel Comics+Multiverse perfectly:

    Yeah! Filler feels different!
(Although no Wolverine please! Or Cyclops or Jean Grey for that matter. Give the spotlight to Storm and other, less popular and/or less worn storyline X-Men!)

    But I can. :)

I'd prefer to take an extra step, just in case I can help one maybe less-than-careful person from being spoiled.
