On SKB, when Han confronted Ben, he asked his father for help. Someting along the lines of "I'm torn apart" and "I know what I have to do but I don't know if I'm strong enough to do it."
So was he really struggling or was that just a tactic?

I think he was genuine, from a certain point of view, he needed Han for eliminating the light in him. But he was struggling with his decision, not knowing what is right and what is wrong. He also said "Thank you" after e stabbed Han, I think.
I could be wrong though! What are your thoughts?

I think he was as well. That being said, I can very easily see him not being torn as well.

Yes he was genuine. Do you remember during the Starkiller fight Poe said: "as long as there is light, there is hope". Han and Kylo were standing in the light and that's when Kylo was genuine. Then the light faded and Kylo gripped his saber and killed Han. No more light, no more hope.

I agree, he was genuine. He really (really) wanted to kill his father and fulfill Snoke's wishes, but he was having a harder time following through than he thought he would.

Yes. The sun being drained was meant to parallel kylo's transition.
It also calls back to the scene of luke in the throne room, his face half in light half in shadow, deciding whether to kill vader or save anakin.
    Powerful stuff.

I think its a great question.

I have to believe he was genuinely conflicted since he didnt need a tactic to kill Han. Han had his guard down, Kylo could just stab him anytime.

I think the light fading out and Kylo killing Han was a interesting moment.

Question is... is all hope for Ben truly lost?

It's quite obvious. He knew what he has to do (kill his father) but he was still torn apart (kill or do not kill). He told the truth, it is Han who did not understand what his son really meant. Han thought this "I know what I have to do" is about abandoning Snoke and dark side.

I heard this as, "I need to kill my father. But I'm not sure if I am strong enough to do it."

    Yep.
    I believe Kylo/Ben was being 100% genuine.
He was sincerely asking his father if he would die for him so that he could successfully resist the light side.

Yes he was genuine. Because in previous parts of the movie we see he still had that inclination to being "seduced" by the light side. That was obvios when Snoke tells him that Han Solo has BB-8 and that Kylo had not face a test like that, which meant facing his father. Also Snoke says "We shall see" when Kylo tells him, he will not be "sedeced" by the light. In other scene Kylo speaks with Vader and say that Snoke senses his conflict.

He was genuine in saying he needed help, but he was really talking about fully embracing the Dark Side. He knew he had to kill Han to make it happen, but he was conflicted and wasn't sure if he could do it. He even said he was being seduced by the light at one point and that he needed Vader to show him the darkness. You could also interpret him as meaning both good and evil when he said it, but choosing the Dark Side meaning at the end.
It was a great scene IMO. Kylo is an amazing character. I love the concept of him being "seduced" by the Light and fighting it.

Yes, he was genuinely conflicted. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't see Kylo Ren returning to the light.

Among other ideas utilized, for any fans of the old "Legends" material, Ben Solo needing to kill his father was very reminiscent of Jacen Solo needing to kill someone close to him (ended up being Mara in that instance) in order to cross that threshold of snuffing out the light within himself. We'll see what happens, but at this point I don't see Kylo turning back from the light.
