A former Jedi? She was dressed in what appeared to be Jedi garb especially when she was pointing the gun at Krennic and told Jyn to believe in the force. Also Galen studied and knew a lot about Kyber Crystals maybe his desire to know about them came from being married to a former Jedi?

She was surveyor and later guide for scientific teams, we learned in Catalyst. She cannot use the Force, but she feels its existence - whether really or because she deeply believes in the Force.

She is not a Jedi. But the prequel book Catalyst states that Lyra has a very meaningful relationship with the Force. She also felt connected to the Jedi way of life but she is not force sensitive.

Lyra's clothes were of the same type and colour scheme as those worn by Saw's rebels. Just saying........................

It's interesting to see how religious effect the force has in the star wars universe. One believe it, one not. Force or using it is so distant thing to normal inhabitat, althougt our storytelling is focused on it. I like the new way, when they introduce Church of the Force etc.

Yes, Galen's wife was Lyra. :p

Joking aside, I think this was just a stylistic choice to connect her with the force to the viewer. So, not really a jedi, but since she gives Jyn the Kyber necklace she's sort of passing a certain legacy to Jyn at least.

She definitely thinks her exit strategies through like a Jedi.

What was the Plan, Lyra? You point a blaster at Krennic and they all run away? Where’s your daughter?!

I've read elsewhere that in the first treatment, maybe even early drafts, she was a Jedi in hiding and Jyn was a potential Force user. The crystal she gives Jyn was supposed to be the same one from her lightsaber, which she intended for Jyn to someday use to make her own.
I believe MSW reported on this recently, but it might have been elsewhere.

    I've just found this:
"For a long time in the story, there were Jedi around, even if only in the background. Jyn's mother was a Jedi," screenwriter Chris Weitz revealed. In the final film, Lyra Erso was dedicated to the Force, and a strong believer in it, but had no Force sensitivity herself.

I'm glad they didn't go that route. Jyn is a good character because she's "normal" and not a superhero. It's the same reason Luke was such a captivating cypher in the first film. As kids, we all believed we could be like Luke, plucked out of obscurity, told we have a special power, and begin to realize that power as we save the galaxy. But he's never a "superhero" like the Clone War Jedi. He's barely competent and just beginning to comprehend he has abilities IF he can learn how to use them.

Jyn was just a person, though. She was undoubtedly especially intelligent, given her parentage. But no superhero. She's more like Joan of Arc than Jesus, really!
