SPECULATION Was Rey raised by Poe's parents?

Here is my theory and it is based on Pomojema's article on the main page.

Rey and Kylo are cousins. Rey is the daughter of Luke and Kylo is the son of Han and Leia. When Rey is 2-4 years old something happens to Rey's mother. Maybe the Jedi academy is attacked and she is killed by the Knights of Ren or just Snoke. I don't know. At around this time Kylo is 9-11 years old and Poe is 15-17. Luke is devastated by the loss of his wife and angry as well. He thinks Rey's life is in danger and he can't protect her because off his grief/anger. Poe is going off to a New Republics academy. Luke ask the Dameron's to watch over Rey so he can sort out what happened. They take Rey to Yavin and she grows up near the force tree, which is what Luke wanted. This also explains her wonderment at the trees when she gets to Maz's castle as she hasn't seen them in a very long time, more on that below.

Kylo stays with Han and Leia. However, Han takes a real shine to Poe, because he is a great pilot. Leia also takes a shine to Poe and watches over his career. Kylo doesn't like this one bit. Han is not all that connected to Kylo (in Kylo's eyes) as he is not a pilot. Han loves Kylo but doesn't know how to express that to him. Kylo becomes more and more angry as he grows older.

Luke tells Kylo and Rey about Anakin when they were younger the good and the bad. Kylo starts to obsess over Darth Vader. This would play into Rey saying there were stories. She heard the stories from Luke and Han then confirms them to be true. Kylo leaves Luke and Leia when he is 20 or so and joins the Knights of Ren. Kylo then goes after Rey trying to get Luke to come out of hidding. First he goes to Yavin (the rain scene) and Rey and the Dameron's escape on the Falcon (not sure why the have the Falcon, maybe Han lost it to Mr. Dameron in a card game), he never sees Rey. The Falcon being the Falcon has trouble and they have to land on Jakku. The actions of Kylo cause a rift between Han and Leia and they split over it.

Rey is 13-14 when she gets to Jakku. She gets separated from the Dameron's and is waiting for them to come back(what she tells BB-8). She believes they are her parents. Mrs. Dameron's dies. Mr. Dameron is MVS and is watching over Rey from a far. He believes this is best to protect her. It is reported that they all died. Several years later Rey uses the force even though she doesn't know that is what she has done. This is reported to Kylo and the First Order. Mr. Dameron contacts Leia and tells her the FO is on Jakku and so is Rey. Leia sends Poe to stall Kylo with a diplomatic mission. She contacts Han to go get Rey. Poe meets with his father MVS and sees the village destroyed. He is then captured. Kylo tortures him because he has always hated him and for no other reason. Some how Poe gets his hands on Luke's saber and sends it with BB-8 to the surface of Jakku with instructions for BB-8 to find Rey. Kylo kills Poe's father to take him away from Poe the way Poe took Han away from him.

Finn helps Poe escape and they crash on Jakku. Finn thinks Poe is dead but he is not. Rey helps Finn and they go to the Falcon. Rey is well aware of the Falcon as she was brought to Jakku on it and has flown it in past. She has been working to fix it (the scene where she is at the work bench). Han and Chewie show up after the Falcon gets of off Jakku in a capital ship that Han is in charge of as a member of the New Republic. They capture the Falcon or Poe just lands it there. I think Poe is on the Falcon when they escape Jakku. Han and Chewie board the Falcon unsure of who is on it. The Chewie were home line is said then.

Han thinks he knows who Rey is but doesn't tell her and wants to confirm he is right. He takes her to Maz an old Jedi. Poe returns to Leia at this time and reports to Leia. He tells Leia Han took Rey to someone named Maz. Leia then orders Poe to Maz's castle as she knows Kylo will soon follow or because she thinks Maz maybe dangerous. Maz tells Rey who she is and she is shocked and doesn't believe it(very Obi-Wan, Luke like). Maz's castle is attacked as Kylo is tracking the Falcon. Poe shows up just in time to save the day but Rey is captured by Capt Phasma. They all go back to Leia's base. To start the finale act. Han and Leia reunite in a very touching scene. All is forgiven in just a matter of moments. We are all going to cry.

Kylo is after Luke for not training him and to finish killing the last of the Jedi. Kylo has been lied to by Snoke and the Knights of Ren. Kylo believes Rey will lead him to Luke. He does not know Rey is Luke's daughter when they first meet. The line is it true your just a scavenger? plays into that. He quickly figures it out and sets a plane to attack the resistance and to lure Luke out. Finn has Luke's lightsaber as Rey wants no part of it. Finn, Chewie, Maz, and Han go to rescue Rey. (This is very parallel to Luke, Ben, Han and Chewie going after Leia in ANH). Maz feels the force in Finn.

We see Luke on Jakku after the village is burned looking for Rey (he puts his hand on R2, R2 thinks Rey may be dead). He then shows up at the end of the movie to save Rey and Finn from Kylo. Kylo gets away but is having doubts about his allegiance to the Knights of Ren as Luke tells him things during their fight that confuse Kylo. Luke could easily kill Kylo but has no intention of doing that. He wants Kylo to turn back from the dark. I can see Luke telling Kylo to step back into the light and Kylo telling him "I am immune from the light." Luke returns to the base with Leia at the end of the movie to reestablish his life with Rey and to train Jedi (Finn).

We get the movie ending with the weapon of the FO destroyed and a celebration just like TPM and ANH. Someone will die but I don't know who that will be ( I think Maz and they wrap her up in Finn's jacket).

I have no inside knowledge and i could be very wrong. I would love for this to be the movie though.

 

I think I'm off on lots of stuff. I just put a story together based on Rey being separated from Luke. I think my theory plays will with parallels to ANH but not being the same movie.
