    Was Yoda ever a padawan? Did somebody train him to become a Jedi? Have they ever said who trained him?

    I'm sure he was a padawan but everything about his past and species is a mystery that has never been explained. It would make a great fantasy movie if they ever wanted to tell those stories.

    Post Chee Quote, Minch was given his own entry into the databank and TCSWE. But they cannot erase the fact that Minch was Yoda's given name in the story treatment for TESB. Nor can can they explain away how Minch and Yoda both fought and killed the same Bpfasshi cult leader, on Dagobah no less. But its simply old news at this point. Hope you enjoyed this tidbit of lost Star Wars history.

    Since Yoda is younger than the existence of the Jedi Order, then I would say that he had been a padawan once.
