    ....OK.....Red Squadron had 11, right? Or not? Red 4 and 8 do not report in. We only see Gold Leader and 3 other Gold Squadron.

    Was there another squadron there, if so, what color? Blue squadron was decimated at Scarif. Green and Grey do not show up until ROTJ, and they fly A-Wings and B-wings....

    According to the Empire there were "30 rebel ships...."

    If there isn't a canon answer, how about a legend answer?

    Your answer is in the special editions. I count about thirty if you look closely in the background. They probably didn't want to go trough all 30 "red _ checking in." On camera.

    Hmmmm yes I know there were 30.....but I get the impression that Red is fully accounted for with Red Leader thru 11 minus 4 and 8 .Gold may be the rest.....we never hear them do the all wings call....
