What are the odds that Rian Johnson's trilogy gets cancelled?

The highs of Solo were "yeah that's pretty cool" and the lows were "eh, I'll forget about it in a week"

But you are right. Nothing in it was great Star Wars and none of it was awful Star Wars.

Even Rogue One, which I think clearly suffered the most from studio interference, has moments that are just jaw dropping. Between story and cinematography.

 

I'm saying no. Perhaps it gets turned into the 3rd live-action TV series, or part of another medium, but I don't see these films happening now.

 

It's happening. It was debunked a few months ago and haters keep running with any little kernal of info they think is truth that he won't be.

I think if Lucasfilm were going ahead with his Trilogy it would have been announced by now. I honestly believe Lucasfilm have concerns about the way TLJ has divided fans and they have had a rethink.

It will possibly go ahead as a TV series but I can't see Rian johnson getting three more big budget films.

 

Bob Iger said there are six Star Wars movies in pre-production now. We only have the confirmation of B&W doing the first one in 2022. So, everything is possible.

Even though I'm not the biggest fan of TLJ, I still hope RJ can make his trilogy or at least work together with B&W on a trilogy. People who think this time period of the movies releasing is a sign for RJ's trilogy being cancelled should look at it with other eyes: Maybe Disney wants to give RJ more time to create something great. Furthermore if enough time has past, then no one will think of the hate of TLJ anymore.

 

And I think they would have canceled it by now. Instead of having the fandom's elephant hanging in the room. Look how fast they fired Colin Trevorrow from IX.

 

If they have been cancelled it really looks like people have cut off their noses to spite their face. They may have not liked TLJ and Disney worried about that so instead of Disney cancelling and replacing with another filmmakers films they are just cancelling. So instead of 6 films over next decade after EP9 we get 3. Yeah we did it. Damnit we did it.

For me I will say thank you RJ for what I now consider the best Star Wars film of all time.

 

Except Iger said that they're in the pre-production process of six Star Wars films like yesterday.

 

Believe me nothing would make me happier.
