SPECULATION What are they holding back?

    We have received a ton of material via the trailers, tv spots, and character centered specials. They do show some of the sizzle no doubt but they also don't give it all out. They hold some big eye candy, story points, and the major set pieces back for a big pay off for the final product viewer.

    But what do you think that could be?

    The soundtrack and the night-rain battle planet Eadu? are my biggest guesses.

    Definitely the soundtrack and Eadu, and maybe a couple of things about the other planets (there seems to be a plethora of planets).

    They are holding back revealing the fate of Galen, and the Rogue Team, though I think we could surmise what happens to them.

    I'm pretty sure we hear some of the new themes in the Battleftont footage that was released. Certainly sounds like we get Jyn's theme at least.

    I think for certain we can only say we have heard the about 30 seconds of soundtrack during the Jimmy Kimmel piece with Jyn, Cassian and K2 on the streets of Jedha. I think the bit we heard in the Battlefront could be something but I don't have BF to be able to listen to it and compare it against say the other music intro's during other characters, to judge whether their is a good chance of it being legit. There have been a few of the TV spots that seemed to have more rich and more orchestral could be actual soundtrack bits too but I can't say 100%.

    I think we only have seen maybe 10 seconds worth of the raining-night time atmosphere battle which I have gathered takes place on Eadu. I think beyond that we seen the most of the Scarif land and space battles.

    I think there may be an even bigger story plot points that have gone totally under the radar. We have some wild theories that are out there with the Rogue One team connected to the KoR. Seems like a long shot but there might be something of that magnitude we will have to wait and see.

    • We see Eadu, but Jyn apparently has multiple flashbacks.
    • The labor camp on Wobani.
    • All those creatures from the featurette must be somewhere, most likely Jedha.
    • Saw's hideout has only been glimpsed.
    • Most of the Eadu set.
    • Inside the Imperial facility on Scarif as they steal the plans.
    • Ship interiors. It looks like Tarkin is standing on the bridge of his Star Destroyer.
    • I'm shocked that we've seen this much footage, but nothing of the TIE striker.
    • I'm guessing the transmission tower is a very important (likely climactic) set piece.
    • OT character cameos, the biggest obviously being Vader. Just how big is his role in this film?

    Also in that Battlefront video from 23:00 all the way to the end is a bunch more Star Wars themed music that I've never heard before. If it's from the movie, then Giacchino is definitely going for pure Williams...

    The only thing that I am really, really hoping that will come true is that we see Darth Vader and his lightsaber in action. Imagine that Chirrut, et al., confront Vader to distract him from killing the other rebels or from stopping the rebel mission.

    One can only hope!

    I think they're holding back a Death Star infiltration mission. I'm almost sure Jyn is actually going aboard the DS in this film.
