I'm on a bit of a Star Wars roll now. Finshed Dark Disciple and The Princess Diarist and liked them quite a bit. The former one is a great end to the story of Asajj Ventress, while the latter offers a deep dive into Carrie's psyche and made me miss her even more...

The next book on my reading list is The Legends of Luke Skywalker. After that I'll probably read some non-fiction instead.

Contains Jules Verne's "From The Earth To The Moon" and its sequel "Around The Moon". Classics they may be but entertaining they are not. At least now, at the time it was probably exciting as all get-out. I'm almost finished and boy will I be glad to put this one behind me. It's basically a science book (filled with the hilariously wrong theories of the day) thinly disguised as fiction. I can forgive bad science in science fiction, in fact normally I wouldn't give a crap, but with the plot taking a back seat to the science and it being SO wrong about everything it leaves little to enjoy except unintentional comedy.

So, Three Body Ploblem was very good, with good pacing, great original ideas and a lot to say about humans and our society. I would highly recommend it to any sci-fi lover. The only downside (for some) is that most of the characters aren't too deep or well developed, because the book is driven primarily by events, ideas and the mystery, which is, unfortunately, spoiled by the cover (yeah, great job publishers).
Now, jumping straight into the second one.

My favourite Verne book was "Five Weeks in a Balloon". By the time I got to reading his books, I've already seen the adaptations of all the main ones, and so the "Balloon" was the only book that had a real sense of adventure and discovery to it.

I haven't read that one, the only other Jules Verne book I'd read before this was 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea when I was a kid. I vaguely remember having mixed feelings about it.

I think you are too old and "modern" for Verne anyway. But if you ever decide to get back to him, that's the book I would suggest.

Finished Wheel of Time a couple weeks ago and couldn't read for about a week afterwards. When I finally could, I read An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. I first heard about it being compared to Divergent, which turned me off. But when I saw the blurb from Brandon Sanderson, I HAD to read it. Turns out it wasn't terrible! I'm currently reading the sequel (took a break in-between to read James Islington's The Shadow of What Was Lost, but I didn't like that book as much).

That was a rough read! I finished it a while back and was happy to put it down. Dr Sleep was good so I guess you cant win all the time.

I am currently reading the EMP series by Jack Hunt. Just finished book 5 in the Fred series and 4 the Valens Legacy. The Feedback loop just blasted the first 4. Tamer the dinosaur king book 3. Book 3 in Threadbare. Between audiobook and ebooks I can chew through them pretty fast.

Im listening to the audiobook of Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn at the moment, it’s pretty good — It’s not completely acted out like those old Star Wars movie dramatisations, but it’s got some decent music and sound effects added, and you can hear all the forest noises, gunshots and explosions. The narrator does all the different voices himself.

The official book comes out tomorrow, but I've been reading the prereleased chapters every week, so...

Also, as a fun little joke, I picked up this comic to read tomorrow too.

Then it's back to my regularly scheduled YA series by Sabaa Tahir.

I'm finally reading Lost Stars... I don't like Claudia Gray's writing style. I don't believe I'm using this term but she is overrated. I put the book down several times now, can't seem to get through it. I read Bloodline which to me was ok. I got through it most for the characters: Han and Leia. Oddly enough, I'm looking forward to Master & Apprentice another book by Gray releasing on April 2019. I think it delves into 2 Jedi that I'm interested in. I like reading about the prequel era.
