Os I finally finished RHYTHM OF WAR ( Stormlight Archive Book 4 ).
& damm that was a satisfying read it’s a proper winter book the type that’s made for curling up in your favourite chair with a hot drink ( or a god whiskey) & escaping into for a couple of hours when it’s cold damp & dark outside.

Now I’m going to start my complete Stormlight Archive reread

Amazing , enthralling, well researched. Sucks you in and will not let you out. Quite possibly King’s best (but still love The Stand)

Yeah that one was really cool, for some reason I couldn't get into the show though.

    I just finished this...

Not too great. Very dry writing with a cast of about 1000 names that he gives no background on so it's hard to remember who anybody is much less care about them. And just weirdly focused with serious need of an editor. Important events would just be mentioned in passing while he'd go into crazy detail about something that is unimportant. For instance the sinking of the Belgrano gets 2 sentences but he spends a whole page talking about Mike Tyson in the 1981 Junior Olympics just to compare him to a Sidewinder missile... because they're both scary or something I don't know.

I've also been reading the first From A Certain Point Of View book. I had started reading it a while back but lost interest after a few stories but now that the new one is out and I still have this one sitting here I figured I'd knock it out. I've only been picking it up from time to time and 1/3 in but it's been okay so far. I enjoyed the old Tales From books more though. I particularly liked the way they seemed to have worked together to make all the stories fit together, like Tales From Jabba's Palace almost felt like a novel where every chapter was from a different character's point of view. But in this book they sometimes contradict each other which I found weird as I thought most of the books in the new canon were really OCD about canon and this book doesn't even follow its own canon. There have been some fun or entertaining stories and I found the one with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon pretty touching.

About time lol! But more seriously, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Wit's story was so good...

Oh snap! Did you catch any foreshadowing you may have missed the first time around? And will you read Warbreaker as well?

Oh, it's pretty cool, man :) I'm an insanely slow reader so I'm still only on page 150 or something, and it's a pretty slow part of the book with lots of magic rules exposition and training, but I sure am looking forward to the heist stuff begins in proper! :D

Other than that, the writing is solid, the characters and interactions cool, and Vin is great :)

Time for a Brandon Sanderson review.

I've never liked his writing that much. To me, his characters seem like rigid archetypes that have no nuance or humanity. I also find his dialogue unrealistic, as it's often just two characters info dumping on each other. However, I do like how he makes large worlds, and their rules are never violated, and his action sequences are pretty good. That's pretty much all I like though.

Currently re-reading Dark Disciple. The first time I read it I finished it in a day, so I'm spacing it out this time.

So I have finished The Way Of Kings & started on Words of Radiance.

I’d forgotten how good this one was as it’s been a while since I have read it. The only downside is that knowing what happens in future books does lessen the impact of certain events but still Shallan & Kaladin first meeting ( & their Second :)) is absolutely priceless.
