Just about to fly overseas for work... desperately restraining myself from reading this before the flight:

...so filling in the time with this and the other two in the trilogy

I tried to finish it before Rogue One but got sidetracked reading some other stuff. I found I'm having a hard time getting into the way James Luceno writes but I'm making progress finally.

Finally got Lost Stars. Laughed out loud when Thane questioned whether you could cure a hangover by spending time in a Bacta Tank!

I am rereading or, better said, re-listening to parts of Thrawn. After reading the book, I heard that audiobook was great and it is. The guy that's reading the book does a mean Thrawn as well as Palpatine. He's not that successful with female characters, they pretty much sound like harpies, lol. But, he could fool you with Thrawn, he sounds almost exactly like Lars Mikkelsen.

    Finished this month:
    Aftermath (Meh)
    Vader's Marvel run (pretty good)
Lost Stars (Absolutely blew me away)

    Started:
Thrwan (It's okay... I'm only a little over 100 pages in, probably just need to get more into it)
Star Wars Marvel run (finished 1st trade, and it's so much better than I would have thought possible)

Well, since this is General Discussion, at the moment I am not reading any SW-related books. However, I am reading "Letters from Verdun" about a young American who fought in WWI in 1918, fascinating book. I also just finished reading "The Martian" (the book that the movie was based on) - fantastic read!

Currently reading House of Suns (2008) by Alastair Reynolds.

Six million years ago, at the dawn of the star-faring era, Abigail Gentian fractured herself into a thousand male and female clones, which she called shatterlings. But now, someone is eliminating the Gentian line. Campion and Purslane-two shatterlings who have fallen in love and shared forbidden experiences-must determine exactly who, or what, their enemy is, before they are wiped out of existence

I tend to only read Star Wars books, as they're usually the only ones that still hold my interest. So far, in the last two months, I have read...
    Catalyst
    TPM novelization
    Kenobi
    C3PO Comic
    Darth Maul Issues 1&2
Reread Trade Paperback for Star Wars Issues 1-6 at least twice. (I really need some new comics!)
Just finished Outbound Flight (Still need to read Mist Encounter, the short story packaged with it.)

I am a really fast and avid reader, so I read Outbound Flight in a total of 4 days! I was hoping that it and the Thrawn trilogy would last me a while, but.... looks like I'm gonna need to make another visit to Barnes and Noble! I also plan to get caught up on the Star Wars series, Darth Vader, and Doctor Aphra before the new Darth Vader series starts, as well as Screaming Citadel.

That is Mark Thompson. He has done a lot of SW audiobooks both in Legends and new canon. He did all the Aftermath books. His Sinjir was great... and hilarious. No one is going to do Han Solo on point but he does it better than anybody else who has tried. Agreed about the female characters although he did a good job with Jas by giving her a deeper but still feminine voice with a thick accent.

Oooh, I have to hear that, Sinjir is my boy. :D

He is hilarious, but also dark, the entire story about his training and repeating "I am the brightest beam of light" while destroying dudes left and right in attempt to save Conder were dark and badass. I'd like to hear what Thompson did with him.

I just finished Thrawn and now I'm about to jump into the Fletch series by Gregory McDonald. I'm a huge fan of the two movies but I've only read the first book (which the first movie was an adaptation of, the sequel was an original screenplay and I don't think based on a book), and it was probably 15 years ago. I'm probably going to read the Flynn spin-off series along with it but I haven't picked up any of those yet.

This will be my second read of it. Plus I love anything to do with that period in Japanese history. Shogun & Gai-Jin are both fantastic plus there is a great book out ther called Cloud of Sparrows which is nearly as good.

Tomorrow I'm doing something I've been meaning to do for probably 15 years, jumping into Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series. It's so much to read and I probably would have kept putting it off if it weren't for the upcoming film. I figure I'll probably want to see it, or I'll probably hear spoilers, so I might as well read them now. I really haven't read much King in recent years, back in my teens and 20's I read most of his stuff but I haven't read anything he's published in the last 20 years probably. The most recent thing was probably The Green Mile. I still read some older books but I probably didn't read anything of his for 10 years or so until I recently picked up The Running Man, which is a movie I've always loved and have been meaning to read. It was very different from the movie but I enjoyed it.

Good luck, @NunbNuts ! The journey to the Tower a long and dangerous one. And I would say try to leave any expectations you have behind. It's like going down the rabbit hole.

I'm terrible - still reading Catalyst but then I started reading a book in Spanish ("La Gaviota" from Fernán Caballero) and got Thrawn, Rebel Rising and Guardians of the Whills. Hope to finish Catalyst this week - so far it is good but been quite busy. Also keeping up with the comics does not help LOL.

Rebel Rising by Beth Revis. And it's breaking my heart for both Jyn and Saw.
