That shouldn't be a problem, I don't really have any expectations. I only have a VERY vague idea of what it's about and it's not something that really gets me too excited. But I've had people tell me many times over the years that I HAVE to read it and had it been any other author I probably would have ignored them and the books. But since it's King, and I've heard of so many characters from books I love showing up in the Dark Tower, I've always planned on reading it some day. I had been waiting for a serious illness or disease to leave me bedridden so I'd have the time for this undertaking but with the film coming up and my health holding steady I'm going to have to push up my plans. Stupid immune system.

I couldn't resist and wrote this about that infamous Rogue One # 2 comic flashback: http://archiveofourown.org/works/10881753

I'll finish Catalyst and continue with Rebel Rising. Maybe after reading them I will come back and improve this.

Damn, you made me cry. But, I don't want you to be disappointed in Rebel Rising, I don't think it's spoiler if I say that such a meeting was never described.

    Aww thanks!

Not at all, someone mentioned that in Twitter but Matt Martin confirmed Gareth Edwards added that into the comic adaptation, so I'm choosing to believe it happened but it was not mentioned in Rebel Rising LOL.

Just finished Guardians of the Whills. Could not put it down. I want to know more about there lives prior to order 66. Did they know about the Jedi extinction? Had they interacted with any Jedi prior? Sounds like they were aware of the Sith? What happen to the rest of the guardians? I am dying here. Anyone know whether they will make this another book or comic for the future?

I am "reading" the audiobook of Thrawn. Still slogging through. This and Tarkin have taken me about four times as long as I can usually read other books... *sigh*

The journey to the Dark Tower is progressing pretty well, I've knocked out the first 3 books and am about 100 pages into Wizard And Glass. I have a question about what to do next though. Aside from the main/numbered novels there is the short story The Little Sisters Of Eluria and the novel The Wind Through The Keyhole. I almost read the former before beginning the novels (as the chronology seems to indicate that's where it belongs) but I've heard/read a lot of people saying it's better to save it until the end. But should I also save The Wind Through The Keyhole or actually read it after Wizard And Glass? I'm seeing conflicting answers about this, one thing I read says that it helps transition between the books better but another says it's stand-alone and really doesn't have a lot to do with the main story.

I haven't read the the two new ones. All I've only read the 7 numbered books. I've heard the same thing that they don't add a lot to the "main" story, but I'm sure they're good.
Usually my rule of thumb is to read in the order written. That's how I read the Chronicles of Narnia, and I think its the best order for Star Wars too.
    Good luck on the Journey.

Yeah, my rule of thumb with most any books/movies/shows is to go by release date. You usually can't go wrong that way, but I wasn't sure with the Dark Tower.

I'm starting the audio book of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (Blade Runner) by Philip K. Dick. Has anyone read this book and how does it compare to the film?

Finished Catalyst last week and started reading Rebel Rising immediately, almost half of it. Seriously, the more I read the more I think Jyn's story is so tragic.

It is very different, though some of the core ideas (as well as Deckard) are in the movie. Basically, the novel is just the basis, the movie is it's own thing.

I finished last week Rebel Rising - definitely a must-read if you find yourself emotionally engaged to the Rogue One characters.

Right now, since so far this year my reading material has been purely Star Wars, I decided to grab this for a change:

    la gaviota.jpg

A Spanish novel, set in the XIX century, really entertaining.

But next I'll be back into Rogue One characters with...
