What character do you think should get a stand alone film?

id say the movie about the clone wars through the clones clones eyes but it could accidentally be too familiar with R1.

 

I agree that Qui Gon Jinn would be a great stand alone movie. Seeing his training with Count Dooku would be interesting.

Palpatine before TPM!

 

- Most definitely Obi-Wan. I want to see his struggles after Order 66. Ewan McGregor really deserves to be in another Star Wars movie.


- Furthermore I would like to see a stand alone movie about Palpatine and Plagueis.


- I'm also interested in a movie about Boba Fett after the events of ROTJ.


But the spin-off movie I want to watch the most is an origin story about the aftermath of Order 66.

 

I'd love a Vader Down storyline. Just Vader on his own without the assistance of any Imperials and against a small group of Jedi and some rebels. There'd be a horror feel to the film as you watch the Jedi slowly get picked off from a wounded and very angry Darth Vader. The final battle would be between Vader and three Jedi Masters in a swamp like environment in the darkness. At one point Vader would be disarmed and thus resorts to summoning the bodies of the fallen rebel soldiers as meat shields whilst he withdraws to his lightsabre.

Anyway, that's just me.

 

Obi-Wan and Boba Fett are obvious/great candidates, but a movie about the Clones similar to those Clone-centric episodes on TCW, I'd love to see something like that.

A Ewan MacGregor Obi Wan movie is the most popular choice, and also the best, IMO. Dude was great among otherwise mostly underwhelming actors in the prequels. He has a big chunk of missing history that can be explored, and like R1, it can be a film without Jedi and be the western-style film that has been teased for some time.

...and, after his glorious return in R1, I could live with a Darth Vader movie...but they'd better make it quick. James Earl Jones is 86 and no one can do his voice other than him. No One.

Please, please just no Boba Fett movie.

 

I'll have to double check but I *think* they have a vocal library of JEJ so they can essentially just make Vader say whatever from here til eternity

 

I would be fine with a Ginn movie as long as he wasn't portrayed as wooden and stale as the way Liam did. Give him a little more character. Maybe have him a little bit of a loose canon in his youth until a major event changed him to the way we see him in TPM.

 

I have said it before and Ill say it again......Boba Fett has never recieved the respect he is due on screen for the title of "greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy". I demand this!!!

 

In prequels even Samuel freaking Jackson is wooden. If there's a person to blame for bad acting, it's mostly George Lucas.

 

I would love (as many many others would) to see more of Ewan as Obi Wan. Personally though since Ewan is almost universally praised as Obi Wan I would want a trilogy of Kenobi films.

The first would take place during the Clone Wars (Ewan looks pretty much the same as he did 10 years ago) with no Hayden (maybe a small cameo) but having someone like Ki Adi Mundi, Plo Koon, or Kit Fisto as the second main Jedi, and also finally have Temuera play some of the show-original clones like Rex and Wolffe.

The second would be within five to ten years into the exile focusing on Obi Wan's training with Qui Gon and his eventual trials with the force-priestesses. I would love some Dr. Strange/ Inception level mind bending blast to happen during this and it would end with Obi Wan dueling his darker half (Yoda's was a shadow version of himself I believe) but instead of himself he faces all the enemies that have come before (Maul, Dooku (would require a Tarkin effect), Grevious, Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane (bring them into live action because reasons) and ending with fully Vaderized Darth Vader). The only two main actors should be Ewan and Liam Neeson's voice, everyone else should be cameos like Joel Edgarton returning as Uncle Owen.

The third would be a classic western-style movie set sometime after the trials mentioned above but before he is full Old Ben-like. Something like Luke gets kidnapped by some goons because Owen pissed some people off and he promises Owen he'll rescue Luke. I would want a sandstorm sequence where the group of enemies are slowly getting picked off by Obi Wan (Like the docks scene in Batman Begins) and the final two or three are shooting wildly and all we see is the glow of Obi Wan's lightsaber move through the sand creeping toward them until he finally kills them.

The idea would be to have each part of the trilogy be a different genre, War film, adventure psychedelic, and western in my examples.

 

Well, on the one hand I can't imagine that they have enough dialogue pre-recorded to construct full scenes that don't sound awkward and clipped...however, on the other hand I saw a recent demonstration of a new Adobe application that is the audio equivalent of Photoshop and can construct new sentences out of a few key words. It's sorta frightening, but I guess not much of a stretch after seeing digital resurrections of long dead actors.

 

They have plenty. All you need are the basic vocal sounds.
If they don't have the library, it's a lock they have enough from his work on other projects to do what is needed.
