What do you like about the Prequels?

I like that I haven't seen any of the prequels in over 10 years.

 

I liked the credits - because it meant that the movies were thankfully over.

 

The Clone Wars is pretty cool

 

Yeah cool for the like 5 minutes of screentime or whatever it got .

 

Just the lightsaber duels.

 

I guess the deeper I get into the Star Wars Cannon, the more I come to understand what George was trying to do. I have only in the last 6 months really dived into the new cannon, which I suggest if you haven't yet please start. If you take the time to read all the comics, read all the books, and watch the whole series of The clone Wars (get pass the first two season, it gets good) then go back and watch the movies they become considerable better. Yes the over the top R2 is still gonna be there, you can't get rid of JarJar, and the clones still look like cartoons....but get through all that crap and the story that is there is truly amazing.

 

Best high-lights from The Prequel:

1.) Pod-race
2.) Anakin's gradual turn to the Dark Side
3.) Learning the roots of the Skywalker family
4.) Order 66
5.) Yoda vs Emperor Palpatine

 

Dont forget :

- The Darth Plageuis story from Palpatine --> Anakin

- Anakin vs. Obi-Wan Battle

- Maul vs" Jinn/Kenobi Battle .

- Opening shot of AOTC

- "Are you an angel?"

- Kamino scenes

What I like:

- Ewan McGregor
- Liam Frigging Nelson
- The Duel of the Fates (both theme and scenes)
- Podracing looked sort of cool
- Across the Stars (theme)
- The ending of ROTS

And I guess that's it!

 

I forgot to add from earlier posts about the geonosis arena battle, the coruscant speeder chase.

 

I liked the Geonosis arena battle between Jedi and droids.

 

Yeah those VFX hold up because a lot of it was practical also .

 

The Boonta Eve Classic. was that a classic

Hey all!

I was thinking about this the other day. This one applies mainly to Episode III but here it goes: the sense of a galactic-scale war. Revenge of the Sith does a much better job than any of the original movies at showing that this conflict of good vs evil is truly taking place all over the galaxy. With the addition of new planets such as Kashyyyk, Utapau (and I actually thought Grevious was overcrowding the movie a bit, not the biggest fan of that side story), the battle above Coruscant at the beginning, even the short scenes in Felucia, Mygeeto, etc. when Order 66 kicks in; these scenes help out a great deal in creating this feeling of scale.

I like the prequels as much as the originals, each for very different reasons. If you watch the prequels expecting good acting, good dialogue and an Oscar-worthy style movie you won't last a half hour. If you go in looking for sci-fy action, a story without your typical cliched adventure characters, cool sound and visual effects (the last time I watched Episode III it held up pretty well) and on top of that you like epic John Williams music then yeah, you can definitely enjoy them.

The music is incredible, some beautiful work by JW - the music really enhanced the movies, and helped them alot

Across the Stars gets played an awful lot by Mr Me
