    Since C3PO's mind was wiped in ROTS then what info does he know that gets the plot going?

    Jason Ward says it will be both controversial and delightful. Not sure if that means for the audience or the characters. Or both.

    But Bail Organa had 3PO's mind wiped and it makes me think something from the archives. But I have no idea.

    That's possible. It certainly would throw a wrench in Kylo's plans and totally make him feel he has lived a larger lie. Plus Leia and Luke knew and never told him. So it would for sure affect both Kylo, Rey and others. But I'm not totally sure that's it, but could be.

    If 3PO witnessed something in the archives like Anakin doing the killing. It would make Kylo re-evaluate what he stood for.

    i do love the idea that our two favorite droids could be heavily entwined into the conclusion of the saga.

    although, if the 'thing' they were looking for was an old archive of R2's data.. then it all sounds similar to TFA with everyone on a treasure hunt.

    i'd prefer the McGuffin to be a person - one that is no longer alive.

    I love it too because they are the real story tellers and narrators of Star Wars. But I agree it needs to be something different than TFA. And I think it will. The something that ties the whole saga. Or the person and it could be Anakin.

    What would really be controversial is if Anakin was still alive and never died. And projecting himself like Luke did. But that's just me thinking crazy lol

    MacGuffin is something on paper that might seem controversial.
    Tying the prequels to the sequels.

    The MacGuffin is a Battle droid factory that dates back from the Clone Wars era.
    Lando is the one that will help the Resistance to find it.

    The Resistance will use Battle Droids in battle.

    Since they supposedly wind up back on Jakku and Tatooine I'm guessing the MacGuffin is a person and one of the following:

    -Rey's Parents
    -Shmi Skywalker (perhaps Kylo and the First Order are looking for her grave in hopes of somehow confirming if Anakin really was the "Chosen One".)
    -Luke Skywalker. I'm fairly confident Luke is going to be alive for at least part of Episode 9. Since this movie is supposed to connect with the prequels it would bring things full circle if Luke could somehow resurrect himself after his father's whole descent into the Dark Side was due to his quest to find a way to cheat death.

    That or the plans for another Death Star.
