@RockyRoadHux and @NinjaRen have expressed some interest in watching the new season of TCW, yet understandably don't have the time to binge the entire series.

While I'd still definitely suggest watching it all when you have the time, I can totally get why that's not a feasible thing to do before February, and still wanting in on the new stuff.

So, what episodes are necessary? Well, currently I'm not sure we can really say. However, going purely off of guesses, I'd say that these are likely candidates.

    -For the rumored Mandalore arc

These should give you some background on Mandalore and its customs, before the siege.

    1. The Mandalore Plot
    2. Voyage of Temptation
    3. The Duchess of Mandalore
    4. Corruption
    5. The Academy

    -For
    Maul's
    Return in the Mandalore Arc

    1. Night Sisters
    2. Monster
    3. Witches of the Mist
    4. Massacre
    5. Bounty
    6. Brothers
    7. Revenge
    8. Revival
    9. Eminence
    10. Shades of Reason
    11. The Lawless

    - For some the Bad Batch Arc, since the Arc Troopers seem involved (these are probably less necessary than the other, but still good!)

    1. Clone Cadets
    2. Rookies
    3. Arc Troopers
    4. The Unknown
    5. Conspiracy
    6. Fugitive
    7. Orders

    -For Ahsoka
    1. The Clone Wars movie
    2. Sabotage
    3. The Jedi Who Knew Too Much
    4. To Catch a Jedi
    5. The Wrong Jedi

For the Arc troopers and Ahsoka, they do appear in far more than listed, but these are (in my opinion) the ones necessary for their stories. With Ahsoka especially, though, her arc benefits from the attachment the viewer gets from watching all of her content.

Also, keep in mind- watching things this way works pretty well because the show is developed in relatively self-contained arcs. So it's absolutely not necessary to view everything, and what I have for the Mandalore stuff is almost fully comprehensive of what the show has to offer on that storyline.

That being said, the show is weird in that it didn't always air in chronological order. I've listed things here chronologically, at least within their respective arcs. If you're interested, here's more complete chronological listing.

It's been 4 or 5 years since I've given the series a full view on my own, so I might be a little rusty. I'd be happy for any corrections anyone can offer!

Thank you @cawatrooper! That's interesting to know! Especially for the people who want to binge CW before watching the new season.

We probably will watch the new season blind though. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. Let's wait and see :)

I will be completely honest here....I mean we are among SW friends here, right?

I did not watch all the Clone Wars episodes and this thread is GOLD.

I plan on watching these before Feb!!

Both @cawatrooper and @Rodney-2187 ‘s lists are pretty solid and should get you well prepared for the new season. I still recommend watching most of Seasons 3-6, as many of my all-time favorite Star Wars stories are contained within those seasons, but I acknowledge that not everyone has the patience, time, or desire to watch all of that content.

You could probably just watch Season 7 without seeing any of the previous episodes and then just pick and choose which arcs from the older seasons interest you the most, in addition to what’s been discussed here. The Clone Wars is an anthology series anyway, so you don’t necessarily even have to watch it in order (like Star Wars in general haha.)

Rewatched these episodes again this weekend because of
    The Mandalorian
, and man are they wild.

One thing I don't think really registered with me on my first watch is the presence of
Faleen thugs that are leading Black Sun. That's some serious setup for Shadows of the Empire (even if, admittedly, it was probably aired before the canon wipe).
