SW has already had a long rest for 10 years (Still would be resting and nearly dead if George never sold the franchise), I'm glad we're getting more movies and TV shows because this is something I wanted since the 90s. I'll take good to mediocre movies and tvs shows over books that I don't care about. I honestly was excited and looking forward for a 1 SW movie every year, but that not happening anymore.

I think one creative approach could be to not explicitly reveal when in the timeline this new saga occurs. If the first film is compelling enough, it could try to keep it a mystery as to whether it takes place earlier or later than the Skywalker saga. Perhaps by the end of the trilogy, it’s place in the timeline could become clear.

I’d love to see anything from the Old Republic era, or anything early enough to pre-date the lifetimes of Yoda or Maz Kanada. I also think I’d enjoy something in the distant future, but then again, I don’t know how radically the outcome of episode IX will change the fabric of the Galaxy Far Far Away and our expectations for what is possible there.

Imo another trilogy set around the time of the Clone Wars, there's still so much potential that needs to be explored.

If you're a person who hates Star Wars under Disney it might be time to take a break from this forum. I don't need Star Wars every 10 years to appreciate it. So give me more. I can't wait to see season 2 of Star Wars: Resistance and the first season of The Mandalorian. You don't have to like everything. I didn't like the prequel trilogy that much. Many people love the prequel films. Let people like what they like.

At first I was thinking Old Republic, but then someone brought up the fact that the whole saga thus far takes place “a long time ago” so perhaps we can fast forward a few hundred years into the future and see how Luke/Rey’s Jedi order has progressed?

I will be happy if I can get a time period that looks and feels unlike anything unlike what we’ve gotten before. That’s why I love the prequels. It looks and feels fresh. The OT (when it first came out) was unique and fresh. The ST? It is not as fresh because it heartens ( a bit too much in my humble opinion) to the OT.
