SPECULATION What if we get another Hyaden Christensen situation?

Idk. I thought his performance in Attack the Block as an Anti-Hero turn to an Hero was quite solid.

He has the voice. He knows how to show emotions and reactions.

Might watch it again. Just to be sure. Anything else is bound the the dialogue he gets in the script.

And Human-wise: We will see how he turns out after the premiere. Does the success or critics get him?

Can´t know for sure. But till now he was quite the motivated and happy typ...

Imposible to cast worse than the PT. Hayden Crhistensen and Jake Lloyd were horrible choices made by Lucas.

And I think Boyega will surprise me most in TFA, I have a good feeling that he will do a great work.

 

Hayden is a great actor, Anakin was just a blast written character.

Seriously check out Shattered Glass sometime and your mind will be blown that that's the guy that played Anakin.

 

Shattered Glass was great. It was the horrible dialogue and directing that ruined his interpretation of Anakin. I still love the prequels, but I literally have to fast forward the parts with Anakin and Padme because the dialogue and delivery is so bad. It's worth noting that Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman became much more successful than Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher. The prequels were loaded with stars, but there is only so much a good actor can do....

 

Everyone here is too hard on Hayden, he had a very difficult role to play in general and that's without the fact it was the legacy of Darth Vader too. The lines he was forced to say were pretty shoddy too. He wasn't great but I really don't think he was as awful as everyone suggests

 

The lack of emotion was a goal of George Lucas who wanted the Old Republic to be emotionless. Case in point, compare Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu to any other SLJ role, it's night and day.

I don't blame Hayden as much as I blame the horrid writing and direction

 

If Hayden is repulsive to you, it does not mean that is repulsive to everyone else.

I like Hayden as Anakin in PT. And I like PT, All 6 Star Wars movies.
I really do not find anyone in Star Wars repulsive.

As for dialogues.... dialogues were never the strongest link of Star Wars in general. All 6 Star Wars movies have some shity dialogues.
Back then, OT movies where also heavily criticized for dialogues.

Even OT actors criticized their dialogues.

Some of you are really too hard on PT movies.

 

Problem with Anakin was the writing and directing. Lucas wanted a James Dean in "Rebel Without a Cause" type character, but James Dean in RWAC was pretty whiny, pouty, and annoying.

 

Strange, most of these I do not consider bad. Some of these I really like.
But everyone is different and has a different taste.

 

But you had actors and, in the case of ESB at least, directors and co-writers who could make it work. The Prequels were a case of Lucas without any restraints, which only magnified his weak points.

Thing is, everyone is different. I like both. In my opinion both trilogies have weak points and strong points. And strong points prevail, as concerns me.

Can you explain why "Yippee" is anything but awkward and out of place? I seriously want to know how you can like "Yippee." It is one word away from "Yippee skippy!"

You have similar situations in the OT also.

Like I said before, both trilogies have some shity dialogues.

 

I'm on a mod power trip currently haha not really.

But I have a feeling this is devolving into a prequel discussion which we have a board for that. So I suppose that although the topic is kind of weak discussion should be focused on what happens of Boyega is a weak actor?
