In the new empire magazine and the article by Star Wars News Net the term "Force Back" is referred too.

"What is a Force Back in TFA:

If filming started with the light side (filming in Abu Dhabi), it ended with the dark. At 21:30 on November 6, 2014, at Pinewood on S Stage, TFA wrapped with Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren unleashing a ‘Force Back’. Don’t run to Wookieepedia – a Force Back is a term used by the crew to describe…
    What exactly?
“We’ll just let that dangle, shall we?” says Kennedy."

What is the "Force Back" I believe it may be a form of portraying visions to a certain individual, like we see Kylo Ren do in a number of trailers and TV spots). However the whole of the Kights Of Ren have assembled to perform it, which might rule that idea out.

The name "Force Back" (and this is a stretch) might be to do with ... time travel ... and I know people are against the idea of time travel in Star Wars but TFA is a new era of the saga and J.J Abrams has handled it before in Star Trek.

Anyway what are your ideas on this new use of the Force!

It's a flash back (initiated by Maz Kanata in this case).
Maz uses the force to allow the group (Rey, Finn, etc) to experience a shared vision of the past. This happens at Maz's castle right before they get busted up by the FO.
They see something in the flashback that involves "the seven," Kylo Ren, Luke's academy, and Rey....this possibly culminates in Maz figuring out who Rey really is ("I know your eyes") and saying that her destiny is to take the lightsaber and embrace the Force. Rey is "disgusted" by the lightsaber [source: MSW call sheet/shooting script], rejects it, and runs into the woods...(where she later witnesses the destruction of Maz's castle and is abducted by a blaster-deflecting Kylo).

Basically confirms the flash back sequence AND the fact that "the seven" of the flashback/forceback = Knights of Ren = trailer scene in the rain with "the seven/KOR" standing around a bunch of dead (padawans?), possibly Luke's disciples.

KK just inadvertently confirmed the known plot details yet again...

Well Jacen Solo in the now non-canon EU could Force Walk back in time to see past events and walk around in the past. Or it is some forced (pun not intended) of bringing images of past events or fake events in one's mind as some kind of torture.

But that is all speculation on my part. My first thought was flashbacks but ah well I still think it is the conformation of flashbacks

Yeah but this says the Knights of Ren are the ones initiating the flashback. Interesting.

That's just the writer BSing because he/she doesn't know the context. The writer only knew that the "forceback" scene involved Kylo and the KOR, so he/she assumed and dressed up the article with a buzz word like "unleashed."

    The forceback is Maz's doing.

A "Force Back" I believe I read is like a dance-off with Force-assisted dance moves. To "unleash" a Force Back is to basically break into spontaneous dance as a show of superiority in the ways of the Force. So this must be what happens when Luke finally shows up. He stands there for a moment with his hood up, while the Knights of Ren start circling around snapping their fingers slowly and then BAM! Kylo Ren throws down some sweet dark-side dance move and FORCE BACK! Ren throws down the gauntler. I bet Luke draws his hood back slowly. Stands there for a second as Ren (still in pose) looks at him and then Skywalker doesn't just raise the roofs with mind-blowing dance, he blows the sucker off the house and into orbit. WOW this dance-off is going to be SICK!

Epic! Just when I thought I couldn't be more amped for TFA. I can already picture a stunned Ren pitching face-forward into the dirt while the Starkiller explodes from sheer Force-based dance-offing. It rhymes like poetry. So thematically rich, and so metaphorically deep. The Force Awakens, indeed. JJ has done it!

MSW says nothing about the KOR performing a "force back." Uh oh...

You know when you buy a car, and you get "Cash Back"?

Like that. But with the Force.

That would be a very cool power to see. It would be nice to see some new force powers introduced into the movies that aren't always used for battle but instead knowledge.

I definitely think we will see more than one new force power used.

Force visions. Mind control. Out of body experience... Something of that nature.

It's when two non force-sensitive parents have a force-sensitive child.
They don't want their child to have a near predetermined future as a Jedi or dark lord, so they give hem/her to another family.
*Because they placed the child into loving care, the Force gives them a return of sensitivity(ROS), as explained in the now Legends novel Tales of the Fallen Knights.

*The deal is that the partners would split the child's sensitivity, each receiving 50% gain in force abilities.
