What is Rey reacting to in the teaser?

Probably the Island itself.

Almost certainly a Force Vision. But it's possible more than one poll answer may apply since Luke very well may have helped bring on the vision.

 

Although this is unlikely, Luke could consider her a threat and force jokes her. He went nuts while looking into something. He hands the saber back and immediately force chokes and pushes her over a cliff.

I think it is a force vision, or part of her training. Also, that stars/rock opening is cool, but we all know that won't be the space transition. It might be something simple as a pan down to Ach-To, but i am thinking it might be Hux/Ren landing wherever Snoke is, and we see him for the first time.

Don't y'all know by now that Disney's Star Wars trailers are 80% deleted scenes? That shot probably won't even be in the movie, let alone the space/rocks transition.

 

I'd be good with that. But Snoke seemed to be pretty disfigured in concept art, I wonder if anyone will see him in person until the end. The hologram is like FDR, made to look like he's reasonably healthy, but in reality his fire side chats are from a chair where he's laying there crippled.

True, and the whole rock thing could be deleted from final movie without really causing too much of a stir, I think. I don't expect to see the star transition for sure.

 

The opening sequence will be the evacuation of D'Qar, and we'll catch up with Rey and Luke after that. That's the only way to make this feel like a film in and of itself, and not like an episode of a TV series.

 

A task probably, she at first hasn't succeeded but now the try,try again happens.

 

Luke is a dirty old man, and since Rey is down on all four in the teaser, I can only imagin.

In case of Rogue One, true, there was a lot of cut material, especially the shots that appeared in the first teaser but the next trailers are mostly made of the shots that were in film. in case of TFA the track record is much better. The vast majority of the shots appeared in the film and the most notable exception is the look at Kylo in hood turning his lightsaber on the Starkiller Base. Granted, there may be stuff, that doesn't appear in film (edititng crew still has 8 more months to work on the team,) but it won't be much.

I know there is but overall, the amount of cut content isn't as big as some people make it seem. And before someone points it out, yes, there's no exchange that goes like this in TFA:
Maz: Who are you?
Rey: I'm no one.

 

I agree that there were not many differences between the trailers and TFA. With trailers coming out more than 8 months before the movie release, it is not surprising that some scenes might not make the final cut. For me, it is more important that the trailer represents the feel of the movie accurately and both the trailers of TFA and R1 did so for me. Of course, it is interesting to see afterwards which scenes from the trailer did not make the final cut.
