    I've read that we will discover how Han earned the name Solo in the movie, so we can guess Solo is not his birth name.

    What is your guess for his birth name ?

    Han Solo. I'm almost certain that what Bob Iger meant by his comments is that in the Han Solo film we will get to know the origin of Han's notoriety in the Star Wars underworld, not that he will be renamed.

    when referring to how one earned his name, you could totally be talking about his reputation. as in, why his NAME means something in the Galaxy. OR, it could mean he's Caleb Dume's secret brother Ronnie and he buys a Galactic Passport off of Jabba for 4,000 credits with the obviously fake name of Han Solo.

    As the others pointed out, Iger was probably talking about reputation.

    On the other hand, it can be that he has no name of doesn't know it if they stick to the old canon where he was an orphan. So he takes the name of Solo, because he is Solo. Get it? ;) :D
