This may seem stupid. But with the amount of amazing planets in the Star Wars Universe is incredible.

And when I say Underrated, I mean planets that are fascinating, beautiful, or filled with life as the planet isn’t talked about as much or isn’t shown in Canon SW as much.

Try not to choose a planet like Tatooine, Hoth, Yavin 4, or Dagoba. Those are significant enough not to be considered underrated.

On a last note, keep the planets from the following films and series of Star Wars:

    Phantom Menace
    Attack of the Clones
    Revenge of the Sith
    A New Hope
    The Empire Strikes Back
    Return of the Jedi
    The Force Awakens
    The Last Jedi
    Rise of Skywalker
Star Wars Clone Wars (NOT 2003 lol) (IM TALKING TO YOU TOO EMBO! Lol)
    Star Wars Rebels
    Star Wars Resistance
    Mandolorian
    Solo
    Rouge One

To answer my own planet, I’d go with the planet Illum. Some will argue that this is not underrated seeing as it is where young Jedi receive their Kyber Crystals for their Lightsabers. However, from my memory, it only appears in one or two episodes of the Clone Wars, so yeah, it’s underrated. And Im not counting StarKiller Base as Illum even though it kinda is. We all not its not hehe.

Also, I want to clear this up real quick. Underrated can have a few definitions from many of yall. So the main idea from this thread is that the underrated term means a planet that doesn’t appear in the Films and Shows that I mentioned often or it isn’t talked about enough I guess.

I'd choose Scarif. Because it wasn't explored much, we barely know nothing about it. Besides the landscape was amazing.

    1) Jedha, the most culturally loaded planet in Star Wars.

    2) Although not a planet, Cloud City comes in as a second.

    3) Coruscant has a lot going on, but the stories never have time to dwell on them, unfortunately.

    4) Naboo, with its twin civilizations, is also pretty good.

    5) Any of the Death Stars or city-sized ship could do with some micro-culture exploration.

    6) Exogol; I've got soooo many questions about this world and Palpatine's cult & operations there. (For the record, "having questions about" does not equate "having objections to"; TRoS is pretty good!)

    7) Corellia; Solo:ASWS added so much flavor and culture to SW with its, what... 10 minutes on Corellia? But I need to know more!

    8) Alderaan. It was a real shame that the PT didn't invest us with a deep love for Alderaan, to add context and emotion for when it is destroyed in ANH...

    9) Hosnian Prime, for the same reasons as Alderaan, AND becuase TFA could've done with a little more politcal set-up.

    10) And finally, Nar Shaddaa & Nal Hutta, 'cuase I just love the concept of anarchic Hutt worlds!

So... yeah... I guess I'm an urbanophile!

Agreed. Good list. But a question, by Cloud City, you mean Bespin right? Are they the same thing? I don’t really know hahaha

Bespin is the name of the gas giant on which you can find the place "Cloud City". It‘s one of the biggest cities on Bespin.

I'm not particularly interested in the gas giant that is Bespin (except that there's obvious potentional resource extraction politics and stories attached to this concept), but the Cloud City hovering in Bespin's atmosphere I am very interested in. A pure-SciFi concept created by Ralph McQuarrie <3

    NABOO.
The place where the war started, the home planet of the EMPEROR, the home planet of Luke Skywalker’s mom.................. and yet nobody mentions it or goes back there. (Except in comic books.)
It’s a shame. Naboo is visually splendid to look at, is rich in history/culture, etc. They should go back. JJ Abrams should have hid his wayfinder device in Naboo.

    Prequels- Naboo
Naboo is a fascinating planet, and one that actually is portrayed with various biomes (rare for Star Wars!). It has a lot of character in its depictions of culture and architecture, and we've even seen hints of its participation in the Galactic Civil War. The Naboo Star Fighters, royal police, and gungan armies are all fantastic designs, and even though it's a large focus in TPM I think it's otherwise pretty underrated.

    Original Trilogy- Ord Mantell
Well, you didn't exactly leave us with much to use from the orginal trilogy, and I'd say Endor and arguably Bespin are just as hyped as the rest of the banned entries. But, because of the mention of a "bounty hunter on Ord Mantell" in Empire Strikes Back, I think this is a valid entry here. With such a simple line, Lucas managed to establish the characters' relationships and the passage of time, establish the threat of bounty hunters, and lay the groundwork for the cool trash planet that we'd see developed in future media.

    Sequel Trilogy- Crait
Just a really cleverly designed planet that fit so well with the theme. In fact, I'm not sure a planet ever fit the theme nearly as well. Bonus points for the existence of an old rebel base.

    Spinoff Films- Rings of Khafrene
Such a unique design for a "planet", and seemingly bursting with a lot of culture. I'd watch a show set here.

    Shows- Takobo
Not sure why, I just really like Ithorians, and a more urban planet is always welcome.

Overall, out of all these, I'd probably say the Rings of Khafrene are the most underrated. To the point where even with me singing their praises, I'm not sure I spelled their name right.

By Ord Mantell, do you mean the Ord Mantell in Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer? A splendid little game. I really liked each of the worlds-exhibited the atmospheric feel of Star Wars immensely or at least the sense of another world.

    PT- Kamino
I just wonder if there is more beyond that one clone center on Kamino. We have seen so little of it.

    OT- Endor's Moon
I would like to learn more about the Ewok culture, as I think it could be expanded upon.

    ST- Crait
By far the most original of the ST planets, it needs to be expanded upon.

    Spinoff Films- Rings of Kafrene
    Basically what cawatrooper said.

    Shows- Wasskah
Again, not a planet, but I wonder what is happening on the other islands, and if there are any survivors. Some of the shots in those episodes were surprisingly cinematic.

    PT: Felucia.
Not only because my crush was unfairly shot there (Aayla, if you recall me : I love you and I'll do till the end of my life of the world of the days) but because that fongal world was such an amazing concept.

    OT: Alderaan. Of course.
Am I the only one? It cannot be! ;)

    ST: I don't care.
Well if I have to pick one to be the chosen one (lol) : Acht-To. I'm sure there are several others islands or continents, where those seacows eat those porgs in a bestial massacre. Please consider using Slayer's Angel of Death or South of Heaven as a soundtrack during such a scene.

    Spinoffs: Corellia.
Am I the only one? It cannot be! ;)

Shows: I don't care as I saw none of them.

I think Illum is pretty cool/underrated too. If you play JFO you actually get to explore Illum as part of the story line. It's one of my fav planets in the game.

Personally I'm going to go with Scariff as the most underrated.

Yep! (the remaster released recently is fantastic, btw)

Personally, I know it from Shadows of the Empire

It also had a nice little map in the Battlefront spinoff Renegade Squadron.

I dunno, I always just thought it was so cool how it's this giant trash planet. Really captures the essence of the seedy underbelly of the galaxy, to me.

IMO, Not further exploring the abandon base (its history, significance and why it was abandoned) was a missed opportunity as it didnt seem much on the surface: a control room and 1 huge hangar).
Had it my way I would have opted for the abandon base on either Yavin IV, Dantooine or especially Hoth.

Darn.. Exploring the secrets stored in the cloning facilities databases would have been cool. They could essential resurrect extinct civilizations, save or create chaos across the Galaxy.

Ah definitely, exploring the base could've been a really interesting thing to do while the board is set before the battle. Maybe even a flashback to whatever battle may have occurred during the GCW, to get some classic OT action in.
