    A perfect one for me to reply to. My reasons may or may not be different, but I do not like my name either. Steve is WAAYYY too common, and I am as far from common as one can get. My family knows how much I despise common names, but my sister recently named her son Jackson. At that time, it was not just A common name, but literally the most common boys name(in the US). Of course she said it was for my mother(her maiden name). My unspoken thought was "GREEAATTTT ... I'm sure he'll love that when he's in class with 4 or 5 other 'Jacksons'".

    The most basic name you could imagine...John Brown. I remember showing up to football practice freshman year and hearing that all of the upperclassmen assumed I was a fake person. I've grown used to it by now though. I've even had cops harass me thinking I'm giving them a fake name, even after showing them proper identification.
