SPECULATION What must The Rise of Skywalker do for you? [POLL AND DISCUSSION]

If JJ can somehow pull off the final shot of TROS with Force Ghost Luke looking out at our new heroes and Rey/Leia looking back mirroring ROTJ. If you’re gonna end the Skywalker Saga, than end it with the Skywalkers!

 

IMO it should either end with Rey and Kylo/Ben or we go full nostalgia and end it with R2 and 3PO looking into the night sky.

 

The ending should be R2 and C3PO in a Jedi temple, surrounded by Jedi students, watching a hologram of the recent events. C3PO narrates "...and that is the story of the legendary Skywalkers, and how the Jedi were reborn".

 

I kinda like that. It's better than ROTJ 2.0. But I like my endings quiet.

 

I would like to see Vitiate come to Canon and be a motivating factor in Plagueis/Sidious living on after death. Maybe Vitiate is being revived on the outer reaches of the Galaxy, and Sidious helps because he wants to know his secrets. Something like that would be cool to me.

 

SCENE 1: FOREST MOON OF ENDOR. TREEHOUSE INTERIOR, 4ABY

Han Solo wakes up in a tiny Ewok sized double bed beside a grinning Princess Leia. Han immediately groans in pain, holds his hungover head in the morning after a massive post Battle Of Endor celebration.

LEIA: "You okay?"
HAN: "I'll live. Or maybe not." *Han looks worried, Leia chuckles.*
LEIA: "Did you know you talk in your sleep? Who are 'Rey' and 'Ben Solo'?"
HAN: "It was just a nightmare. Forget about it."

IRIS IN, FADE TO END CREDITS.

 

Overall I just want the plot to feel well thought out, be fun, stay away from the spoof or marvel humour, and feel like it is the continuation of the story that started in 1977, not a homage or a reaction to it.

As for actual, things the film needs to do:

it needs to end in a different way to Return of the Jedi, if the end of the film is Kylo/Ben is redeemed while saving Rey from Sidious, then Rey has to go forth and rebuild the Jedi order while our plucky band of Rebels/Resistance defeat the superior Emipire/First Order Fleet then have to go off and rebuild the Republic. Then I will be really annoyed.

Also think they have to give a good explanation for Snoke on screen, at the moment it just feels like JJ went well the Original Trilogy had a misshapen emperor sort of figure so this one will have one too and then Rian went wouldn't it be shocking if we killed him. I just need there to be more to it then that, it just feels lazy.

I want to see some Character development of Rey, feels like they have been so obsessed with keeping her a mystery that they haven't really explored the character.

I'd Love a Luke, Anakin, Ben/Kylo Scene (really want a Hayden Christensen cameo )

I want to see a lot more of Finn and Rey together, they had great chemistry in the Force Awakens

I'd love some more Plaguis details.

I'd like some more book tie-ins

I'd love a flash back of Luke as an actual Jedi Master.

And as little Hux as humanly possible (ideally he die's in the first scene)

 

Excited to see Palpatine in this, in whatever form, to give his character a final end.

All it needs to do is be a good movie with a satisfying conclusion to the Sequel Trilogy and the saga as a whole.

 

With the emperor being brought back in some form I feel like they now have to have Anakin back as well. Anakin is the chosen one and this is the last of the Skywalker saga stories. Ending without him in a story universe that has force ghosts, including him, would be a bad choice to me. I also feel like he should deal the final blow in banishing the sith for good. This is pretty much a must for me and is what has me excited for the movie.

Some backstory on the sith or just the emperor would be really interesting. I hope however he appears in the movie is explained well. It would be great to have some more history on what exactly the sith were doing leading up to the rise of Sidious.

I'm mostly a PT fan so any ties to the prequels will be really great. Not expecting too much here though.

I'd also like to know what the political state of the galaxy is. Already this is something I've had problems following with in the ST.

I want more explanations of TFA stuff. I know we’re getting some stuff explained (as Vanity Fair confirmed).

But I want few more TFA payoffs:
Some explanation of who Snoke was/where he came from. More than one or two lines of dialogue.

How did Maz get that saber???? JJ, thank you for admitting it was a cheap writers trick to sidestep & it was the right choice for the film, now tell us how it got there, please!!

Explain where and how LST got that map to the Jedi Temple planet. I think there’s a real opportunity to explain that along with a bit more about Rey’s origins and how Jakku ended up with a secret map and a child from a place of significance. That huge GCW battle on Jakku is almost certainly going to pay off...though it’s never been discussed in the movies, just shown wreckage from and appeared in other media.

Bur the lightsaber, Snoke, and map things are my MUSTS.
